The Danish Ambassador to Ukraine, Ole Egberg Mikkelsen, came to help fix bikes at our Bike Repair Party for . The AMBASSADOR. Seriously, no other embassies in Kyiv are as engaged and passionate as the Danish Embassy and few other countries donate as much as Denmark. And Ole is always leading the way. Amazing.

A shipment of from the town of Commune d'Archamps in France arrived today in Kyiv - amazing. Donated by the city and the citizens and each bike featuring a beautiful drawing by a child. Overwhelming.

The bikes will be distributed to Konotop and Kherson where they will be used by volunteers and social workers to deliver humanitarian aid, food, medicine, etc to vulnerable citizens.

The town of Commune d'Archamps in France has donated 60 bikes to Bikes4Ukraine and they will be arriving soon. We'll send them to cities close the the front lines where social workers and NGOs will use them to deliver essential goods. So happy!

Here we go again! Onwards! I can't stop with a Nordic therapy garden.... so I have teamed up with passionate colleagues and started a Ukrainian NGO called DIY Ukraine that is dedicated to improving the urban, human condition through tactical urbanism, architecture, advocacy and activism. We are crowdfunding!
Our current project is building one of the first community gardens in Kyiv to do the following:
- enable citizens to improve their food security in the neighbourhood
- create interpersonal relationships - incredibly important during a war because of the benefits of social bonds
- improve personal resilience through developing gardening skills, which is a lifelong gift and also important during a war
- boost biodiversity and create a cool, green space during hot summers
- save an abandoned plot of land from the threat of developers

All with passionate volunteers and with crowfunding.

The big explosion this morning was 700 m from my apartment. An X-101 missile was shot down and the debris landed hard and loud. My friends' have windows blown out and bricks fell from the facades of the buildings. Now, the cafe is full, the sun is shining, the day goes on.

I met the boys from the Danish prosthetics company Levitate.Sport here in Kyiv and learned so much about the challenges of the Ukrainian war context.

An estimated 70,000 Ukrainians have had an amputation of some sort. We are past WW2 levels here now. Many of the amputations are done fast because of urgency, volume of patients and/or harsh conditions in makeshift facilities. And while they are medically necessary, many of them are done "wrong", without planning for the prosthetics that will follow.

For example, I learned that you can't have just a prosthetic foot so it is necessary to amputate more of the leg in order to plan effectively for the prosthetic later. Imagine telling the patient that you need to remove most of the leg below the knee even though it's just the foot that is damaged beyond repair. Oh boy.

But do it right and there is an amazing selection of prosthetics to choose from.

Levitate isn't just about the tech. They told me all about the importance of mental support and a supportive network of amputees who can console and encourage and coach the new victims of this brutal invasion.

One of the many off-the-charts challenges facing the Ukrainian people.

Our Nordic Therapy Gardens will be designed for all variations of mental trauma, including those struggling with dealing with the loss of limb(s).

Big day! At Bikes4Ukraine we delivered our 1000th bike to Ukraine - in Dnipro two days ago. A shipment of bikes donated by the good people of Berlin and brought to Ukraine in collaboration with Libereco - Partnership for Human Rights, Berlin to Borders and Charity organization "Сharitable foundation"Angels of Salvation".
Mikael Colville-Andersen was there to meet the truck and unload it.

Crowdfunding is not what it used to be, but we are determined to continue our work. The deliver humanitarian aid, food, water, etc to the most vulnerable citizens in the most devasted areas of .
40% of Ukrainians still need regular humanitarian aid. Bikes help them get it.
