For the past 8 years, I’ve been traveling the world inviting people from all walks of life, across 5 continents, to write a love letter to the world on an ever growing scroll of paper, that now spans over 630 meters (2100 feet). More than 25,500 people have already participated in this historical project.

Kyiv! Before I leave Ukraine, after spending almost 6 months in your beautiful country, I invite you to join me on January 29th at Ukrainian-Danish Youth House Kyiv, from 18h15 - 20h, for “Thursday Talks”.

First, we’ll have an interactive conversation where you can ask me anything, and I’ll answer all your questions: from my traveling experiences and anecdotes, to the challenges I encountered along my journey with The World Letter (and how I overcame them), my career as a street performer, and as an (aspiring) pop singer in the US, etc etc! I’ll be an open book 🙂

then, I’ll invite you to take part in my participatory art project “The World Letter”: a collective art piece, where the world writes together a love letter to the world. Après avoir fait le tour du monde depuis 8 ans, The World Letter arrive à La Courneuve ce Dimanche 18 Mai, en partenariat avec Seine-Saint-Denis Tourisme 🌍❤️

✍️ Venez participer à “The World Letter”, une initiative de l’artiste franco-iranienne Cocovan, dans laquelle elle invite toute l’humanité a écrire, ensemble, une lettre d’amour au monde. Depuis 2017, l’artiste sillonne la planète avec un bureau qu’elle installe à même la rue, invitant chacun(e) à écrire une lettre d’amour au monde, sur un long rouleau de papier qui s’allonge au fur et à mesure. Des steppes du Kirghizistan, en passant par les favélas de Rio, de Central Park aux camp de réfugiés en Ouganda, des monastères Boudhistes de Katmandou aux rue de Kyiv, plus de 25 000 lettres d’amour au monde ont déjà été récoltées sur la “World Letter”, qui à ce jour, mesure plus de 620 mètres de long. Avec plus de 145 nationalités représentées et des lettres écrites dans des centaines de langues différentes, la World Letter réunie le monde entier dans une oeuvre d’art collective.

📍 Petits et grands, prenez part à ce projet collaboratif mondial et historique de 14h à 19h le Dimanche 18 Mai, Place de la Fraternité (en face du Centre Culturel Jean Houdremont) à La Courneuve, en écrivant, vous aussi, votre lettre d’amour au monde!

À travers 45 pays et 6 continents, « The World Letter » est une œuvre qui rassemble plus de 25.000 messages d’amour.

Depuis 2017, l'artiste franco-iranienne Cocovan invite des personnes du monde entier à co-écrire cette lettre adressée à l’humanité et à la planète ✍️

Ce mercredi 9 avril, elle fera escale à l'ULiège pour partager son œuvre, raconter son parcours, ses rencontres, et répondre aux questions du public.

L'occasion de lire également les écrits laissés par des personnalités connues, mais aussi des étudiant·es de notre université sur la « World Letter » 📃

Vous avez déjà écrit des lettres d’amour ? Probablement… Elles devaient faire peut-être une ou deux pages ? Voire cinq, si vous étiez vraiment inspiré et épris… C’est à peu près sûr qu’elles ne faisaient pas 600 mètres de long de parchemin. C’est le projet complétement zi...

“I feel like the Little Prince,
exploring opinions as if they were different worlds. I start as an innocent little girl, not knowing the different realities, and the more I travel and search, the more the harsh reality weighs on me, pierces me, and shows me right in the face what the world has become now: the injustices and what I would never have discovered or known if I hadn’t embarked on my journey and matured.

I feel like the Little Prince—despite encountering the fox and the snake, I still explore the world and do not stop. Every experience teaches me a lesson.

I hope, with this love letter to the world, that more and more people will mature and make more reflective choices, that they will always ask themselves if what they believe is right or simply imagined. When they realize that the beliefs they held was wrong, it will be a turning point, because the only way for the community to grow and improve is through this.

I strongly believe that a functioning system matters less than the community itself. Therefore, the world needs each and every one of us.

I would ask how you are, but I can see you’re not in great shape. We never stop fighting, never stop breaking things or wearing them down. We are unruly children. And like children—and sometimes adults—we struggle to express our love.
Yet, how beautiful you are in your resilience.
Don’t lose patience; the time will come for us to grow up and finally say:
“I love you.”
