So this is a brief talk on the organisational structure we have here and how reports will appear going forward.

Much of the work has been quiet and hidden but we know an expanding charity needs to be more vocal and seen.

All of us here at Aequitas look forward to sharing our projects, those underway and those we are building, as well as our hopes and vision for what they can achieve as we all strive to create the world we wish to see.

Aequitas and Znadib, two entities within our network with different paths, but one ultimate goal: peace, justice and prosperity for Ukraine, for Europe and for all who wish for a better world for our descendants.

This will prove to be a rather reflective post. As we look back on 2025, one theme has been consistently present: endurance.

We can barely begin to express the gratitude we feel for our donors, as well as for our friends here in Ukraine and around the world. The individuals who you know that when everything goes to heck in a hand basket - they are there for you, who you can ring at 2:30 in the morning when the nightmares and the fatigue hits and will send you a cat picture. New volunteers who bring with them new insight, passion and cheer. Thank you to all of you, from the bottom of our hearts.

We also hold with us those we have lost over the years, Emma, Tonko, Kasia, Margarita, Khrystyna and many more who gave their lives helping in every way they could. The pain of their loss is ever-present, but the determination and light they carried remains with us always, and every step we take, we carry that with us.

Yet this year has brought with it change, new vigor and passion to make that better world a reality. To be a humanitarian in every way, not simply to do a job, but to bring that care and love for all to all walks of life.

Be present, be caring, be strong - and may 2026 be a kinder year to our world.

Road to Relief is back !

After a year of restructuring following Emma's death, after a year of struggle to bring the NGO back on its feet, R2R is functional again.

One change: now that R2R is not physically present in Ukraine anymore, we sponsor, finance and support the programs set up by our former volunteers on the frontline, mostly in Donbass.

Here are the five programs that we’re backing, and they need your support:

PROGRAM 1: TOURNIQUET DELIVERY
Antoine delivers tourniquets + hemostatic gauze that save lives on the frontline, with .foundation.
--> Finance 2 deliveries of tourniquets and hemostatic gauze.

PROGRAM 2: MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND TRAINING
Nicholas and his NGO Znadib have trained medical personnel via 5 training programs in 7 months. He has provided medical equipment to 6 stabilisation points and 9 hospitals near the frontline.
--> Develop a system of medical training close to the frontline.
--> Procure equipment to medical facilities close to the frontline.

PROGRAM 3: MEDICAL EVACUATIONS
Jonathan and Ruben have evacuated 150 people from the frontline in one year. Road to Relief has provided them with a new ambulance to carry on their work.
--> Finance fuel, vehicle repairs and equipment maintenance to carry out medical evacuations.

PROGRAM 4: WATER SANITATION
Nicholas and his NGO Aequitas have repaired and maintained filtration systems in 12 towns and villages of non-occupied Donetsk. He has contributed to the rebuilding of the Khurakove dam.
--> Repair water treatment plants and canalisations
--> Provide adapted filtration systems

PROGRAM 5: SUPPORT FOR ORPHANAGES
Nicholas and his NGO Aequitas support orphanages in the regions of Kyiv, Mykolaiv and Kharkiv, through the distribution of toys and books, and the reconstruction of facilities.
--> Rebuild the dorms of an orphanage near Kyiv, finance tuition fees.

Khrystyna Dvoinik was killed on Wednesday November 13th outside Pokrovsk. A Russian artillery strike killed her and wounded another volunteer, during a medical evacuation from the frontline.
Khrystyna was operating with the humanitarian and medical organisation Hospitaliers. Before that, she was a volunteer and Frontline medic with Road to Relief.
Khrystyna wasn't just a trustworthy, reliable and courageous volunteer. She also was a caring and considerate friend, so pleasant to be around, brave despite the hardships.
Khrystyna was truly dedicated, fueling her skills with a will to improve everyday, and do her very best to support those in need.
Let us not forget the toll humanitarian workers pay in Ukraine and other conflicts around the world: too many obstacles, too often targeted , too many killed.
