For two years in a row, Common Sense Communications has been fulfilling its mission—strengthening democracy and enhancing communication among civil society organizations. We not only support important initiatives but also develop our own projects in advocacy, information campaigns, countering disinformation, and human rights protection.

We have prepared a report summarizing the results of our work in 2023–2024, highlighting key achievements, successful advocacy campaigns, and projects we are proud of.

On the eve of the New Year, Ukraine secured the release of 189 prisoners from Russian captivity, including two civilians. This is a significant victory for our society, as many organizations fight daily for the rights of Ukrainian prisoners. NGOs like Common Sense Communications and Ukrainian PR Army are no exception.

Recently, we launched the Art for Freedom: Unseen Civilians project—a series of exhibitions in Ukraine and Europe that use art to reveal the hidden side of war.

We share the stories of Ukrainian civilians unlawfully imprisoned by Russia and bring this issue to the attention of an international audience.

Our achievements:
🎨 10 graphic stories created by artists from Pictoric, representing Ukraine, Germany, France, and Portugal.
👥 Over 1,300 exhibition visitors.
🌍 5 cities: Kyiv, Lisbon, Paris, Lviv, and Berlin.

You can also explore and share the stories of Ukrainian civilians here:

It is challenging to bring Ukrainian civilians illegally detained by Russian forces back home, as no mechanisms for state-level exchanges exist. The "Art for Freedom: Unseen Civilians" project unites the efforts of Common Sense Communications and Ukrainian PR Army to highlight the plight of civilian hostages through art.

This project is implemented with the support of the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung Ukraine.

We're sharing the results of our project quiz on fighting disinformation — the "Propaganda Quiz." The project was designed to help people improve their media literacy skills. Participants demonstrated a high level of critical thinking, and we’ve also gathered interesting insights, which we share in the video. Over 14,700 people have already tested their ability to spot fake news. The quiz is still live — follow the link https://commonsense.zone/en/quiz/ and share it with your international friends to stand together against disinformation!

Thousands of Ukrainian civilians are being held in horrific conditions by Russia, with no mechanism for their return. We launched a campaign with banners across Berlin to raise awareness and mobilize action to bring them home. We continue to fight and organize new projects to keep the public informed and engaged. Watch the video, share their stories, and help us be the voice for those who can't speak out. Learn more at the link https://campaigns.commonsense.zone/en/

Ukrainian journalists and media workers are at the frontline of the fight for truth and freedom of speech. Many of them have paid the ultimate price, such as Viktoria Roshchyna, who tragically died in Russian captivity. Our project, together with Ukrainian organizations Common Sense Communications and Ukrainian PR Army, aims to ensure these journalists‘ voices are heard. In the following slides, we tell the stories of journalists still in captivity. Share their names so the world knows their courage and our common fight for freedom of speech.
