😢Nowadays, panic attacks have become almost commonplace, so it is very important to understand what it is and how you can help yourself or others during PA.
PA is an acute attack of anxiety, when a person's heart beats very fast, suffocation, tremors, dizziness appear, and the fear of dying worsens.
📌 Signs:
• the person is very frightened, trembles, suffocates, tries to find a deserted place;
• makes chaotic movements as if looking for support;
•never shouts or attracts attention, can refuse help.
😊How to help a person with panic attacks?
◾Give a person a sense of security;
Tell them that this condition will end soon and you will be there for as long as it takes, you can be trusted.
◾Switch a person's attention from the internal state to the external world;
Ask to name the colors of your clothes, read store signs, repeat a verse of a song or poem after you - this can divert attention and normalize the heart rate and breathing.
◾Be respectful;
During PA, people are very ashamed of their condition and embarrassed by attention to themselves, so try to provide help yourself. Speak clearly, calmly, unemotionally.
