💔 War is not a kind of childhood any parents wish for their children. Some of them grow up listening to air raid sirens, some wake up from the sounds of missiles hitting the neighbourhood. Fleeing to other regions or countries, they are forced to be separates them from their families and friends. War does not leave the right choices for them and their parents.

✊ Despite the circumstances, the children have shown their resilience and adapted to the new routines.

🇺🇦 The major Andriy Verkhohlyad was serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend our country. Born in Lviv region, raised in Zhytomyr region, he was killed on the Svitlodar arc, Donetsk region.

Since childhood, Andriy wanted to become a soldier. His father was a colonel of the Armed Force. After the graduation from academy, he went to Donbas.

🗣️ “We have to win for our independence, we have to work for it. And, I think, every Ukrainian should understand that our independence is worth it. Because it is the most valuable thing that we have” — Andriy said in his interview.

9-year-old Sasha Filipchuk lost her hand, when her family tried to escape from Kyiv region. Her family car got fired. Her stepfather died, but she with her mother managed to find a shelter in the neighborhood. She was brought to the hospital only in 2 days.
