Mykolaivka Animal Evacuation

Mykolaivka is being destroyed by the war, and rescue requests continue to grow.

During this mission, our team evacuated 25 animals from the village. Others from across the Donetsk Oblast were also brought to safety, with many transferred to UAnimals.ENG (UAnimals) for continued care and reunification with their owners. The rest are now safe at ARK, where their recovery begins.

One unforgettable night. One meaningful cause.

On July 24, a brilliant community of artists, performers, DJs, and volunteers is coming together for an evening of food, drag, music, and connection, with every donation supporting the lifesaving work of Animal Rescue Kharkiv (ARK).

Every day, ARK's rescuers travel into some of Ukraine's most dangerous areas to evacuate injured, abandoned, and forgotten animals. They provide emergency medical care, shelter, and second chances through adoption.

Every ticket, every donation, and every drink helps keep rescue vehicles on the road, buys lifesaving medical supplies, and helps make the next rescue possible.

Every day, we ask people to believe that one act of kindness can change a life.

Postcode Ukraine believed.

A grant from Postcode Ukraine helped provide therapeutic food, vaccinations, and lifesaving parasite treatment for thousands of rescued animals in our care.

Their generosity became full bowls instead of empty ones. Protection instead of disease. Treatment instead of suffering. More than 6,500 portions of therapeutic food, 481 vaccinations, and parasite treatment for more than 1,600 rescued animals helped turn compassion into action.

Завдяки їхній щедрості порожні мисочки стали повними. Замість хвороб зʼявився захист. Замість страждань - лікування. Понад 6 500 порцій лікувального корму, 481 вакцинація та лікування від паразитів для понад 1 600 врятованих тварин допомогли перетворити співчуття на необхідні дії.

This is Brusnika, rescued from the Donbas by Ukrainian soldiers who refuse to leave animals behind.

After arriving safely at ARK, she was fostered by Nolwenn in France, giving her the chance to adjust to life in a home before finding a family of her own.

A week ago, Brusnika's journey came full circle when she was adopted by a family in France.

"We were looking for a dog who would be easy to welcome into our lives from the very beginning. And she truly is. She loves cuddles, playing with us and with other dogs, and she is very gentle with everyone."

Today, Brusnika is exactly where she belongs: loved, safe, and spending her days exploring the beaches of France.

Reality: Many rescued animals still want to be loved.

Reality: With care and patience, many become deeply loving companions.

3. Myth: Once an animal is rescued, the hardest part is over.
Reality: For many, the real recovery begins after evacuation.

4. Myth: Animals left near the frontline can "manage somehow."
Reality: They depend on people for food, safety, and medical care.

5. Myth: Adopting a rescued animal means taking on a problem.
Reality: Adopting a rescued animal is an extraordinary act of kindness. Few things in life give back so much.
