Nigel Watson and Jan Dyer were in Artsyz Ukraine.
The roof is repaired.

Update on the Artsyz Orphanage.
You may remember that an appeal was launched to try and raise funds to repair part of an orphanage roof.
Nigel and I were lucky enough to have a large donation given to us by the Holy Trinity Church in Bembridge.

There was already a charity in place to carry out the work and some materials had already been delivered but there was not enough money left to buy the rest of the roofing supplies needed to complete the work.
We were able to donate to the orphanage £850 to complete the necessary repairs.

Now the children once again live in a warm, weather tight home ❤️🙏🇺🇦

Please don’t forget Ukraine 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
We are here now helping with our meager funds we managed to raise between us on the Isle of Wight UK.
Jan needs to go home Monday 7 th but I intend staying with our van until December. The 2 of us have helped many elderly people , some military and many many cats and dog shelters . The bulk of our funds raised was donated by animal lovers and this is why. Our van was full on the way over with wheel chairs, kennels ( flat packed) , food ( humanitarian and animal) babies clothes ( also hand knitted) adult clothing presents for an orphanage and so much more ALL GONE . Our total funds when we left England was £6500 ( $ 8500 US) We have £1200.00 ($1500 US ) left now to last until December , not nearly enough to do all I need to do. Jan is going to continue raising what funds she can from karaoke nights she organises ( raffles) and ‘tin shaking’ outside’s supermarkets . Bless her . Our main fund suppliers were 1 Dog At A Time dog charity and HolyTrinity Church Bembridge Isle of Wight .
We are based in Odesa Ukraine in an Air B & B paid with our own money ,as are all our expenses including travel.
If anyone feels they can , or would like to financially help us continue our work here then please donate at our PayPal or Gofundme page

Nigel and Jan in Ukraine.
On Wednesday 18th September Nigel Watson and Jan Dyer set out at 8.30am from Odessa in Ukraine to travel to Artszy to visit a small orphanage that had asked for help to repair their damaged roof.
The route would take them through part of Moldova 🇲🇩 and would take all day to complete.

On arrival in Artsyz they were met by Rustan and Julia who run the orphanage, they have one young son of their own....David along with 10 other children in the orphanage, only two of which are girls.

After a tour of the orphanage which is more like a large family home for everyone and been treated to a welcome cup of coffee and a slice of cake Nigel and Jan unloaded handpacked and labelled gifts donated by Ally Haywood and her family, children's clothes, hygiene products, also various children's writing equipment, colouring books, a new Ipad, games, sweets, food for their dogs and cats etc which had been donated by members of Holy Trinity Church Bembridge and family/friends.

After everything had been unloaded from the van attention was turned to the roof repair that needs to be completed before the winter months return.
A charity called Caritass has undertaken to carry out repairs due to begin some time next week but there is a shortfall of materials to complete the work.
Rustan said that £800 more was needed for materials which Nigel and Jan could give to the orphanage from the Bembridge church PCC donations.

From Nigel and Jan
"The day had been not only very busy but very fulfilling and
we are so appreciative to everyone who donated money, supplies and prayers to this special mission in Ukraine"

Please donate to help us to help as many animals and people that we can 🙏🙏
