At Mkwajuni, North A District, Pamoja Youth Initiative, with financial support from the European Union through the Funding Fairer Futures Programme, brought community members together to explore practical solutions around clean cooking energy, climate change, and environmental conservation. In collaboration with Oryx Gas and Mkwajuni Shehia Leadership, participants gained practical knowledge on safer LPG use, cleaner cooking solutions, and protecting the environment around them. 🌍

Now, the message moves beyond the training room. Participants committed to becoming environmental ambassadors, taking what they learned into their homes and communities, encouraging responsible energy use and inspiring others to protect their surroundings. When knowledge becomes action, communities become part of the solution. 💚

When girls discover their voice, they discover their power to shape the future of their communities. 🌍 Through the nine-week leadership and life skills journey, girls are building the confidence, knowledge, and practical skills to speak up, make informed decisions, lead others, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Through interactive learning approaches, the girls are strengthening essential skills in communication, teamwork, problem-solving, self-confidence, leadership, advocacy, and decision-making. The program provides a space for girls to recognise their , develop their voices, and build the confidence to take an active role in creating positive change.

More than a training program, Binti Jasiri is nurturing a generation of confident young women who understand their potential, embrace leadership, and are equipped to drive positive and sustainable change in their communities. 🌱

The most meaningful impact is not measured in reports; it is experienced in communities.

Last week, Pamoja Youth Initiative had the honour of hosting Digital Opportunity Trust and the Mastercard Foundation in Zanzibar for a field visit under the project. Together, we engaged with our team, visited youth-led businesses, observed a live digital business training session, and had inspiring conversations with , , and our valued host organisation, Perspective Development Skills Charitable Organization, whose partnership continues to create meaningful opportunities for young people.

What stood out most was not just the businesses or the training; it was the confidence, resilience, ambition, and leadership demonstrated by the young people themselves. They reminded us that when youth are trusted with opportunities, they don't simply participate in development; they lead it.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Digital Opportunity Trust and the Mastercard Foundation for your partnership and shared commitment to unlocking the potential of young people.

Access to clean and sustainable energy is essential for improving public health, protecting the environment, and building climate-resilient communities. To support this goal, Pamoja Youth Initiative, in partnership with Mwanamke Initiative Foundation and co-funded by the European Union, successfully conducted a Clean Energy Awareness Training in Muungoni, South Unguja. The training equipped community members with practical knowledge on sustainable energy solutions and highlighted the role of clean energy in advancing climate action and environmental sustainability.

The training strengthened participants' understanding of the environmental, health, and economic impacts of traditional energy sources while increasing awareness of practical clean energy alternatives. Participants gained knowledge and skills to make informed energy choices that can contribute to reduced environmental degradation, improved household well-being, and sustainable community development.

Through this initiative, community members are better equipped to promote clean energy adoption and support local climate action efforts. It reflects our continued commitment to empowering communities with the knowledge needed to build a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future.
