Today, 1 October 2026, participants in the Technical Training in Water & Wastewater Technology visited the Donge Mbiji Water Supply Scheme, with support from ZAWA, for practical field learning.
🔧⚡ The visit focused on the water distribution system, pumping station, valves, pipes, electrical components, and solar power system, providing practical insight into the operation and management of a water supply scheme.

💧 Second Round of Technical Training for Master Trainers Begins Today!

Today, 28 September 2026, the second round of Technical Training for Master Trainers in Water & Wastewater Technology begins at KIST, in partnership with ZATI, KIST, and AVT Teltow (Germany).

🎓 The two-week training, delivered by the Global Water Center (GWC), will run from 28 September to 9 October 2026.

🤝 The training is supported by GIZ and implemented in collaboration with the partner institutions.

👥 Participants include KIST staff, Master Trainers, and professionals from both the public and private sectors, including representatives from municipalities, ZEMA, the Ministry of Water, ZAWA, and hotels represented through ZATI, as well as other relevant institutions.

🌍 The training aims to strengthen the skills and knowledge of Master Trainers in water and wastewater management.

📌 Fifth Steering Committee Meeting | 8 September 2026

Today, 8 September 2026, the Fifth Steering Committee Meeting was held at KIST, bringing together project partners and stakeholders to review progress, achievements, challenges, and the next steps for successful implementation.

As the third project meeting held during the third quarter of 2026, the meeting further strengthened coordination and collaboration among partners.

🌊✨ Curriculum Stakeholder Meeting | 30 June 2026

On 30 June 2026, KIST successfully hosted the Water and Wastewater Technology Curriculum Review Meeting as part of the Zanzibar–German Technical Education and Training Cooperation Project, a collaborative initiative between ZATI, KIST, and AVT Teltow (Germany) to strengthen technical education and skills development in Zanzibar.

The meeting brought together stakeholders from government, industry, academia, regulatory bodies, development partners, and the tourism sector to review and strengthen the proposed curriculum, ensuring it is responsive to industry needs and technological advancements.
