Creative Education Foundation Zanzibar Free education, nutrition & medical care to orphans and children living in poverty to change their life paths & help them transcend barriers to success

Providing access to quality education for girls, orphans, and children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Our philosophy is to blend the local school curriculum with the principles of Rudolf Steiner to raise young people who are socially and environmentally responsible agents of change. Access to quality education is important on this developing little island where local schools are over crowded and under resourced, leaving not much time for teachers to provide experiential learning opportunities. Our curriculum focuses on fostering not only academics, but creativity, critical thinking and problem solving skills - the skills needed to become employable and transform other lives in return. We think this is just what this little developing island of Zanzibar needs more of.

First they float with a noodle under their arms and find their preferred position. They learn how their body feels in the water. Confidence grows and they gradually use the noodle less and less.

How do you define success? We are thrilled when our students get great marks, but we celebrate the fact that children have multiple intelligences.

The child who grows to be an employable, contributing adult despite having the odds stacked against them from the start is perhaps our greatest achievement 💫
