Tenotomy is a small medical procedure used mainly in clubfoot treatment.

It involves cutting the Achilles tendon slightly to allow the foot to straighten properly.
The procedure is quick, usually done with local anesthesia, and takes only a few minutes.

After tenotomy, the foot is stretched and placed in a plaster cast for about 2–3 weeks so the tendon can heal in the correct length.
After healing, the child wears special braces (boots and bar) to prevent the deformity from coming back.
