WEMA and the Michamvi community members have started a voluntary roadside plastic wastes cleanup campaign along 17km Michamvi - Paje road. One mourning per week. Gloves + bags are provided.
Plastic wastes collected will be recycled into paving blocks and flowerpots instead of being dumped.

Zanzibar has beautiful and welcoming beach. Conserving it is to ensure plastic wastes are controlled and channelled to valuable projects. So WEMA is focusing on turning plastic wastes into paving blocks for real solution of overcoming plastic pollution in Michamvi locality
