Meaningful partnerships begin with genuine conversations.

Recently, our CEO Ms. Rehema Tukai welcomed a delegation from CRDB Bank, led by Ms. Natasha Cathles, Relationship Manager – Corporate Private Institutions.

The visit aimed at exploring opportunities for collaboration between CRDB and ZMBF, geared toward uplifting the wellbeing of Zanzibar's communities.

During the engagement, the CRDB delegation also presented a special token of appreciation to Mama Mariam Mwinyi, First Lady of Zanzibar, Settlor and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of ZMBF, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to empowering communities across Zanzibar.

At ZMBF, we remain grateful for partnerships that uplift our people and strengthen Zanzibar's blue economy.

Ubora haupatikani bahati mbaya, unafuatiliwa. na kuwa karibu na wakulima ni sehemu ya safari yetu.

Kwa ufadhili wa The Big Heart Foundation, tumefanya ziara ya ufuatiliaji (monitoring) katika mashamba ya mwani yaliyopandwa hivi karibuni katika Shehia za Muungoni na U*i.

Lengo la ziara hii ni kuhakiki utekelezaji wa viwango vilivyopendekezwa vya upandaji wa mwani (recommended planting standards), ikiwa ni sehemu ya jitihada za kuhakikisha ubora na tija katika kilimo cha mwani. Zoezi hili limefanyika kwa ushirikiano wa karibu na Wakulima Viongozi (Lead Farmers) kutoka shehia husika.

Ufuatiliaji wa aina hii ni muhimu katika kuhakikisha malengo ya Mradi wa Seaweed Social Enterprise Project (SESEP) yanafikiwa kwa ufanisi, hususan katika kuboresha uzalishaji na ubora wa mwani kwa wakulima 200 wanaonufaika na mradi.

Kila nanga tunayogawa ni hatua moja karibu na maisha bora kwa wakulima wetu wa mwani.

Kwa ufadhili wa The Big Heart Foundation, tumefanya zoezi la ugawaji wa nanga za asili (local anchors) kwa wakulima wa mwani kutoka Shehia za U*i na Muungoni, chini ya Mradi wa Seaweed Social Enterprise Project (SESEP).

Nanga hizi ni sehemu ya pembejeo bora zinazolenga kuboresha mbinu za ukulima wa mwani, kupunguza uharibifu wa mazao baharini, na kuongeza tija kwa wakulima.

Mradi huu, katika awamu yake ya majaribio, unawanufaisha wakulima 200, wakiwemo wanawake 175 (88%) na vijana 51 wenye umri wa miaka 15–35, kwa lengo la kuwawezesha kiuchumi kupitia kilimo endelevu cha mwani na kufikia masoko ya ndani na kimataifa.

Another productive engagement today as the ECD Technical Working Group reconvened, bringing together development partners, NGOs, CSOs and key members of the team driving Zanzibar's Early Childhood Development (ECD) Programme forward.

Today's session was chaired by Hon. Abeida Abdallah, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children, underscoring the strong government leadership guiding the Programme's next phase.

Building on previous discussions, the meeting focused on translating priorities into action: strengthening coordination among stakeholders, mobilizing sustainable financing, clarifying implementation roles, tracking progress against measurable milestones, and finalizing the two-year workplan.

The engagement reaffirmed our shared commitment to collaboration and accountability, ensuring that Zanzibar's ECD Programme continues to deliver real, lasting impact for children and families across the isles.

Because for every child to grow, learn and thrive, coordinated action today shapes a stronger tomorrow.

Empowering seaweed farmers starts with strong partnerships and meaningful conversations that create lasting impact. Recently, our CEO, Ms. Rehema Tukai, held a productive engagement with KOICA Tanzania Country Director, Mr. Kim Sik-hyon, to explore opportunities for strengthening seaweed farming and improving the livelihoods of seaweed-growing communities.

The discussions focused on creating greater support for seaweed farmers, strengthening the value chain, promoting sustainable production, and unlocking new opportunities that can contribute to the growth of the blue economy.

At ZMBF, we remain committed to building partnerships that empower our farmers, strengthen communities, and create a more sustainable and prosperous future for Zanzibar’s blue economy.

Bodi ya Wadhamini, Menejimenti na Wafanyakazi wa Taasisi ya Zanzibar Maisha Bora Foundation (ZMBF), tunawatakia Watanzania wote Heri ya Sikukuu ya Nane Nane.

Katika siku hii, tunatambua na kuenzi mchango wa wakulima wote katika maendeleo ya taifa, hususan wakulima wa mwani ambao ni sehemu muhimu ya Uchumi wa Buluu na chanzo cha kipato kwa maelfu ya familia za pwani.

Tunathamini juhudi, maarifa na uvumilivu wao katika kuendeleza zao la mwani na kuchangia uchumi wa Zanzibar.

We were proud to host the ECD Technical Working Group, bringing together development partners, NGOs, CSOs and key members of the team responsible for developing Zanzibar’s Early Childhood Development (ECD) Programme.

Hosted by our Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Rehema A. Tukai, and chaired by Ms. Laxmi Bhawani, Chief of the Zanzibar Field Office of UNICEF Tanzania, alongside Dr. Ndoungou Salla Ba, Head of the WHO Liaison Office, Zanzibar, the session provided an important platform to move from the launch of the Programme towards coordinated implementation.

The discussions focused on key priorities for the next phase: strengthening coordination, mobilizing sustainable financing, clarifying implementation roles, establishing measurable milestones, and shaping the two-year workplan.

The engagement also provided space to reflect on progress, identify opportunities for collaboration, and strengthen collective accountability to ensure that Zanzibar’s ECD Programme delivers meaningful and lasting outcomes for children.

For us, successful ECD implementation means creating the conditions every child needs to grow, learn and thrive.
