We had the opportunity to visit Zanzibar Maisha Bora Foundation (ZMBF) , where we explored key strategies for adolescent girls’ and women’s empowerment and discussed how partnerships can drive sustainable impact.

Our conversations focused on practical initiatives, including plans to support menstrual hygiene for 500 girls and collaborative seaweed projects aimed at economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods.

We also exchanged ideas on how we can strengthen collaboration, reach more people, and scale community-led solutions.
These discussions reaffirmed our shared commitment to empowering young girls and women, supporting communities, and building long-term, sustainable change together.

Looking forward to turning these plans into action.

The Islamic Relief fam trip was organized prior to the summer arrival of the Inspire Volunteers Program participants in Zanzibar. The purpose of the visit was to explore the local context, strengthen partnerships, and lay the groundwork for meaningful collaboration on upcoming projects.
Through this preparatory trip, Islamic Relief aimed to build strong relationships with local stakeholders, better understand community needs, and ensure that the summer volunteer activities would be impactful, well-coordinated, and aligned with ongoing development initiatives in Zanzibar.

The Hannibal Robotics Team from Türkiye brought innovation and inspiration to Assalam International School and several government schools in Kizimkazi and Stone Town 🤖✨
It was an experience built on sharing, technology, and new opportunities, where robotics became a bridge between cultures and dreams.

We are truly happy and proud to see that the work we have been building step by step at Assalam is now receiving appreciation both locally and internationally.

Today, not only individuals but also public institutions are reaching out to us, inviting Assalam to be discussed, studied, and modeled in different contexts and locations. These conversations mean a great deal to us.

From the very beginning, Assalam was designed not just as a project, but as a model — one that we always dreamed could be adapted, replicated, and inspire change beyond where it started. Seeing this vision take shape is deeply meaningful for our entire team.

We would like to sincerely thank our Deputy Minister Mh. Badria Atai Masoud for her interest, support, and for taking the time to engage with us in this journey.

Bridging Literacy, Culture & Community!
Assalam Community Foundation ACF and proudly launched the Mobile Library & Cultural Preservation Program, in collaboration with 🌍

💫 From Tumbatu Island to Stone Town, we gathered 26 passionate educators & district officials across all 7 districts of Unguja to begin a transformative journey to reach 10,000 children through:

Storytelling & Science Literacy
Batik, Pottery & Eco-printing
Soap Making & Spice Medicine
Local games: Bao, Udaku, Dama
Gardening & Historical Mapping

Every Friday & Saturday, this mobile space will bring books + culture to life for children aged 7–16 building identity, imagination & intergenerational knowledge. 🌱

This is more than a library it’s a movement of memory, learning, and local pride. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to all our head teachers, and partners for co-creating this vision with us!

Delighted to have hosted the KUWAZA coalition —Pathfinder International ActionAid Tanzania C-Sema —for an engaging visit focused on preventing sexual violence against children (SVAC) in South Unguja.

Through our deeply rooted PEACE model (Permaculture, Education, Art, Community, and Empowerment) we showcased how grassroots innovation, safe learning spaces, and community-led action can strengthen protection systems from the ground up.

We’re proud to stand ready as a local partner, bringing tested community tools and lived experience to the fight for every child’s right to safety.
