🌍 JICA and Zanzibar
Kaizen Unit Visit ZATO

On 15 April 2026, representatives from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) 🇯🇵, Mr. Adachi Shinya and Ms. Shiori Matsumoto, paid a courtesy visit to the ZATO Chairperson at his offices in Kisauni. They were accompanied by Mr. Thabit Masheko, Head of the Zanzibar Kaizen Unit (ZKU). 🤝

The delegation, referred by the Zanzibar Commission for Tourism, shared their interest in expanding Kaizen trainings and seminars for tourism stakeholders in Zanzibar, including ZATO members. Kaizen is a Japanese philosophy of continuous improvement, with a strong focus on Business Development Services (BDS) and Quality and Productivity Improvement (QPI). 💡

We held a productive 90-minute discussion ⏱️, and both sides expressed strong commitment to move this initiative forward and support local tour operators to improve service quality and productivity. 🚀
