When effort meets impact

Building on two years of the Start Small Project, ZAFAYCO successfully hosted a one-day refresher training for 39 peer educators serving Youth Friendly Service Centers across 7 districts of Unguja.

The training strengthened their capacity to deliver quality SRHR information while ensuring YFS centers remain safe, inclusive, and accessible spaces for young people.

Following this refresher training, the peer educators are now equipped and ready to lead outreach sessions in their respective communities, with the goal of reaching and impacting over 1,000 young people with essential SRHR knowledge and services.

A heartfelt thanks to and the IRCHP Unit under the Ministry of Health Zanzibar for their continued collaboration and commitment to investing in Zanzibar’s youth.

ZAFAYCO is thrilled to have successfully conducted leadership strengthening training for 32 Zanzibar Youth Council leaders in Micheweni, Pemba, and North “A” District, Unguja.

Under the Wajibu Wako, Haki Yetu project, the engagement equipped the newly elected leaders with essential skills to strengthen Council governance and foster inclusive youth participation.

Moving forward, the trained leaders will collaborate with Civic Peer to mobilize more youth to be part of the Council and enhance positive change in their communities.

A huge thanks to through the SASA Program for bridging knowledge gaps and building a strong foundation for local youth leadership.
