Why Eco Mama’s Zanzibar?

Eco Mama’s Zanzibar is a project born to help, in our community, kids and mamas. Considering local common living condition we try to give our little contribution to women life and local schools/orphanages in Zanzibar Island.

We manage swahili cooking classes with women from our village (Bwejuu). Often they are moms of several kids and for them this is the only available way for collecting some money and have some benefit using the few things that they ara ble to do in tourism market: cooking local food and teach out to do delicious swahili specialties.

The other projects are connected with kids, future of the community. Our aim is to support the nursery of Bwejuu, about 300 kids from 4 till 6years,with writing materials, some toys and some special breakfast time to time. For 2020 our aim is to increase the quality level of the space where the kids spent lot of time (classes, toilets, playground) supervised from very kind Zanzibarian teachers.

Unlike lot of people who think they give smile to local kids in our opinion the local kids they are used (and they will be used) to smile before and after our visit. So what we do is not to give candies or pencils on the beach in order to take picture, but visit the school time to time, give some support and enjoy to truly happiness of our little boys&girls.
