Hadithi Zetu is Swahili for “Our Stories.” We have chosen that name because we focus on preserving language, culture, and the environment around us through local stories. We create platforms for local community members to tell their stories, and then partner with local artists to make these stories come to life through a variety of mediums such as oral literature, written literature, photography,

local theater, drawings, paintings, design and film. Through the work we do, we hope to build bridges between the traditional and the modern, to enable knowledge exchange between communities and to make local culture and language globally accessible.
