Seeway Tanzania SWTz works with orphans and vulnerable children in northern Tanzania
www.swtz.org SWTz is a really cool children's centre in northern Tanzania.

Our children (orphans and vulnerable children) live in a beautiful setting, with a large family house and plenty of space to play, in Imbaseni Village, Maji ya Chai, near Arusha, Tanzania. We also have a community nursery & daycare for 50 local children. Our children (and staff) are happy, healthy, and know their God! We are seeing lives changed. Finally, we partner with a group of international s

chools who bring teams of students to Tanzania to take part in service projects. We build classrooms and teachers' housing at government schools, and we also work with vulnerable families in several communities, building goat sheds (and installing a female milking goat); installing solar systems; and building rocket stoves. We are reaching thousands of children and adults every year through our programmes. We are truly blessed to be a blessing!

Thank you NAS Guangzhou Panyu for all your hard work last week - we made huge progress on the top bedrooms of the girls’ dormitory at Ngongongare Secondary, to the point where we are going to be putting the lintel on soon.

We also spent a wonderful day in Ngyeku village, building a goat shed for Bereseba, giving her a healthy female milking goat, installing a solar system and building a smokeless stove. We made a positive difference to Bereseba’s life that day.

It was a week full of laughter, but hard work too. The afternoon spent playing with students from Ngongongare Primary school was full of fun - frisbee, volleyball, and lots of running around.

We really appreciate every student and teacher who comes to Tanzania to work with us, and we hope to see NAS Guangzhou Panyu back here again next season!

Once again thank you to the amazing expedition leaders from Nord Anglia Expeditions, who facilitate the week and make everything run smoothly.

On Saturday we drove to Nazareti village along roads that have turned into rivers in recent rains, to see the progress at Nazareti Clinic. It’s looking great, and it was the first time we had seen the staff housing looking like an actual building. We reckon another few weeks to get it all finished. Next step is to meet with the District Medical Officer and discuss staffing, equipment required, and the timeline to get it up and running. Though we have electric wiring in the clinic already, we still have to get electricity connected to the building, and finalise water connections, but we are getting there.

Exciting times - we keep hearing the village is desperate for the clinic to open and we know it is going to help so many lives.

Thank you again Windermere Preparatory School and Nord Anglia Education Social Impact Fund for this amazing investment into lives at Nazareti village.

Last week we held a graduation for 22 young ambassadors on our MAS (Mtoto Awe Salama) Child Rights Program at Ngongongare Primary School.

We have been working with these amazing students for the past two years, and we are so proud of the progress they have made, and the ideas they have come up with. We have seen them become fearless ambassadors of children’s rights and protection. They have learnt to voice their opinions, raise issues, and help fellow students at their school and in their communities. They are in their final year of primary school, and we hope that they will continue to make positive change when they transition into secondary school.

We celebrated the graduation with juice, biscuits, and playing with Lego building kits provided by We Are Future Builders, the ground-breaking organisation run by high school student Harrison Reese.

We have another 54 students currently on the program for 2026 - exciting times ahead. Huge thanks to our amazing sponsor for this programme, and congratulations to the Seeway Tanzania team for the hard work the past two years to get this programme up and running!

When the family you came to help gives you a blessing of fruit from their garden in return. It was a reminder that a blessing given truly from the heart can often be more impactful than the help given. ❤️

What a fun and impactful week we had together with the team of students and teachers from Colegio Menor Quito.

Despite the rains (the long rains have come very early), we achieved so much together. Starting off with the community project we worked with 2 amazing families in Ngyeku village, building goat sheds, supplying female milking goats, installing solar systems, and building rocket stoves. Both families were so thankful for the help they received and we were humbled by their generosity back to us - giving us mangoes, bananas, pineapples, and jackfruit from their gardens. Truly a special day.

Then we carried on with the service project at Ngongongare Secondary School - laying more slab on the lower half of the girl’s dormitory and laying bricks on the walls of the top half. So good to see the progress there.

We played football with students at Ngongongare Primary, we danced, we sang, we played, and we had truly meaningful discussions about the issues facing teenagers in Tanzania and Ecuador - realising there are so many similarities. What a wonderful time together, at the same time helping change lives.

Thank you so much for coming so far (around 13,000km one way!) to work with us and give so much of yourselves to help children and families. We can’t wait to work with you again! Thank you too, as always, to the amazing expedition leaders from Nord Anglia Expeditions, who facilitate the week and make everything run smoothly.

So good to see Diane over here in Tanzania for a short trip. We visited Saruni at Lengijave Secondary School. Now in Form 3 (preparing for O levels in 2027), Saruni has known Diane since he was 4 years old and they have a great relationship. Saruni showed Diane around his school, talked about some of the issues they face at school, and then we shared cake and laughter together with Saruni and his friends.

Thank you Diane for travelling all this way, and for everything you have done, and continue to do to make sure Saruni has a great foundation for his future. We love you Diane ❤️❤️❤️

We were blessed to have a day with a large team of students and teachers from Windemere Preparatory School. We visited the Nazareti Clinic project, showing them the progress on the clinic using the funds they had raised. We have now received the NAE Social Impact Grant that the school worked hard to bid for, so we can carry on and complete the project. Under a relentless hot sun we worked on the foundations for the staff house, getting as far as pouring concrete on the slab.

We also visited one of the goat project families, where two of the students had been part of the goat shed building team last season - it was great to hear that Beatrice, the recipient, has successfully bred from her goat, and is using the milk she receives daily to provide much needed nutrition for her children. The goats were away in a different field when we visited so no pics of them…

WPS teams have been so creative in how they have prepared for their expeditions, and for their fundraising ideas, and they are going to be making such a huge difference to the lives of Nazareti village residents with the clinic. It has been such a pleasure working with them in Tanzania again. Karibu tena.

It was so brilliant to see the walls of the girl’s dormitory at Ngongongare Secondary starting to go up during last week’s expedition, and the cubicles within the dormitory take shape.

A challenging week, with heavy rains from an unusually early rainy season causing some issues, and forcing us to stop work early one afternoon. But the hard work undertaken by students and teachers from British International School of Chicago - South Loop , Windermere Preparatory School, and Collège Champittet, with d'Overbroeck's Oxford joining us for the final day of the community project, meant that we saw significant progress on the building project, and another 10 families were helped with goat sheds, female milking goats, solar systems and smokeless stoves.

Some fun sports afternoons and singing with the students at Ngongongare Primary school made it into a wonderful week.

Thank you so much students, teachers, and expedition leaders, once again you have made a huge difference to lives in Tanzania. Thank you too for all the amazing donations, which will be distributed to various schools, and families.

This little girl has recently started attending our nursery school. She has a foot problem and some time ago had been given a solid plastic brace to wear by a hospital here. She was unable to walk by herself. We, and realised she had no mobility in her foot and ankle joint and started daily physiotherapy last week. One week later she is walking by herself!!! Her parents are overjoyed and so thankful.

What a difference a week of care makes. So proud of our team at Seeway Nursery School. So thankful to the team from Global Children’s Health.

Giving hope to a new generation ❤️

Thank you so much Suzanne and the team from Global Children's Health for coming back to Tanzania and spending time with our very special students again. The students you met last year recognised you immediately and were so happy to see you again. They loved the treatments you gave them, and the smiles on their faces spoke volumes. Thank you too, for teaching our staff valuable techniques to incorporate into their physiotherapy routines. The essential oils, toys and other gifts were gratefully received, and we are excited to see how our students progress over the next few months. We hope to see you all again next year - Karibu tena, na asante sana

Another inspiring week, with students who we believe will make a positive impact around the world.

We finished the slab for the top half of the dormitory at Ngongongare Secondary and started building the walls - always an exciting moment. We finished preparing the bottom half so we can start laying the slab.

We worked with 6 families in Ngyeku village, and provided them with goat sheds, female goats, solar systems, and fuel efficient stoves.

We had wonderful discussions about issues facing teenagers around the world, and how we can make a difference wherever we are. And of course we had some great interactions with students while playing sports at Ngongongare Primary.

We felt hope for the future after this week, and had a wonderful time with hard working teams who were really invested in trying to make a difference in the world.

Thank you so much ; ; ; ; ; ; and for working so hard, bringing amazing donations, fundraising for the projects, and inspiring us as much as we hope we inspired you. And, as ever, thank you to the amazing leaders!
