Good morning, dear friends.
I apologize for the silence from Our Father's House.
The Our Father's House team continues to do wonderful work building trust with homeless children and helping them to get back home, I have just been slow to share the updates. Here is an update about one young man, Lucas Charles Nyangi, who is now back home.
Name: Lucas Charles Nyangi
Age: 13
Home location : Sirari
Reason for being in the streets:
Peer pressure
Lucas Charles Nyangi lives with his mother who is a widow. Lucas is the firstborn having two siblings. Lucas likes to play with other children around their home, and some of these children are living in the streets. Due to peer pressure and absence of any senior figure at home, he was influenced to run away with them from sirari to tarime a distance of almost 1.2 miles living their lives along the way.
However life hasn’t been fair to these little boys, they had to pick plastic bottles to sell them but their needs became many and life was hard.
Now our father’s house team met Lucas and his friends, after talking with them advising them about the streets and the danger of it, they told us why they left and only Lucas was willing to go back to his mother, the other kids weren’t convinced for now. We realized they were scared because of the things they did and we are continuing to counsel them.
We managed to reunite Lucas with his mother from tarime back to sirari. she was very excited to see her boy again.
She told us her life story and said she is trying hard to raise Lucas on her own for the hope that when he grows he should take care of his siblings.
We thank God for the guidance and support and for reuniting Lucas with his family and for the prayers and love we receive from our friends and donors without your support towards our ministry we couldn’t have achieved this reunification and many more.
With love,
Onesmo Kirima,
Director,
Our father’s house ministry.
