We all believe that this is environmental friendly projects which is very easy to adapt, cheap in terms if capital investment, can be conducted by both s*x men and women if and only if proper education about beekeeping is provided. For the farmers living around Pare Mountains, bee keeping is not limited to production of honey and an additional source of income, besides it play a major role in polli
nating plantations of coffee, beans, maize, yams, bananas and other crops. Furthermore a well developed population of bees is crucial for the plantation of Banana, for only this species is able to pollinate the banana plants. In order to improve the inefficient and dangerous current practice of Bee Keeping, we are aiming at implementing new technologies for keeping bees. Bee Houses, modern bee hives and other techniques are among our focus to ensure sustainable beekeeping. These techniques among other things allow harvesting honey more frequently. Further more these will improve quality and quantities of bee products which are going to be produced. A t the same time these new methods avoid the expulsion of bees from their hive, keep the honey combs intact and thus make it possible to increase the population of bees. We strive to implement these new technologies and to introduce other products gained from bees, for example beeswax, propolis, venom and Royal Jelly to increase the value of beekeeping practice. Our aim is to start a training center, where we can coordinate and conduct the practical and theoretical training of our local farmers. Bee keeping around the area is an underdeveloped and inefficient activity. Through implementation of the beekeeping center, easy accessible modern technologies and efficiency methods of beekeeping can be attained or improved. As a matter of facts beekeeping is rather a part of farming not stand as a single activities. It is unsound to speak about farming without mentioning the importance of bees hence beekeeping.
