Mabadiliko binafsi yana nafasi muhimu katika kuiwezesha jamii kuwa salama, yenye ustawi, na yenye uwezo wa kupambana na vitendo vya ukatili dhidi ya wanawake na watoto ili kuiwezesha Tanzania kufikia Malengo ya Maendeleo Endelevu.

Through the sustained support of UZIKWASA, women leaders engaged through the NPA-VAWC Committees have become a vital bridge between communities and government structures in villages across Pangani. Working closely with local leaders, schools, and families, they have strengthened community action on child safety, girls’ education, and the prevention of violence against women and children.

As a result, communities are taking more coordinated and proactive steps to keep girls in school, improve protection systems, and respond to barriers affecting education and wellbeing. This collaboration has also contributed to visible improvements in learning environments and school performance in several villages, while increasing accountability and shared responsibility for safeguarding children’s rights and futures.

Kwa siku tatu, UZIKWASA imewakutanisha wahariri wa vyombo vikuu vya habari Tanzania pamoja na maafisa habari kutoka halmashauri zote za Mkoa wa Tanga.

Mafunzo haya ya uongozi wa mguso ni sehemu ya mkakati wa UZIKWASA wa kuziwezesha sauti za jamii zilizotengwa na pembezoni kusikika zaidi, na kufikia watunga sera na watekelezaji ili kuchochea hatua jumuishi dhidi ya ukatili wa kijinsia kwa wanawake na watoto.

Kupitia mafunzo haya, UZIKWASA imeweza kufikia vyombo vikubwa na vyenye ushawishi nchini Tanzania, ikiwemo kupitia ushiriki wa Mhariri Mkuu wake , kuimarisha zaidi ushirikiano wa vyombo vya habari katika kuleta mabadiliko ya kijamii.

Chini ya ufadhili wa , mafunzo haya yanajenga juu ya uzoefu wa UZIKWASA wa kutumia mawasiliano k**a nguvu ya mabadiliko, yakichangia juhudi za kufikia Malengo ya Maendeleo Endelevu, hususan Lengo la 5: Usawa wa Kijinsia.

UZIKWASA has supported the integration of women from pastoralist communities in Pangani into village NPA-VAWC committees, strengthening their connection with existing government protection structures. Through this initiative, women who were previously excluded from decision-making spaces are now actively participating in efforts to prevent and respond to gender-based violence (GBV).
The intervention has contributed to increased reporting of previously unreported GBV incidents, including underlying forms of violence such as intimate partner violence (IPV). Through interactive Pangani FM radio programs, the women have also gained a platform to share their transformational journeys, raise awareness, and amplify their voices within the community.
In 2026, dedicated interactive radio programs featuring these women changemakers became among the most widely engaged programs on Pangani FM, attracting strong community participation and dialogue around gender justice, girls’ education, and community transformation.
As a result, the initiative has strengthened support systems for GBV survivors and contributed to improved community action toward girls’ education compared to the first quarter of last year.

Kwa siku nne, UZIKWASA imekutanisha mashirika 11 kutoka mikoa mbalimbali ya Tanzania katika mkutano wa Jumuiya ya Mashirika Yanayotumia Mbinu za Uongozi wa Mguso uliofanyika mkoani Tanga kuanzia tarehe 21 hadi 24 Aprili. Mkutano huu umewezesha mashirika kujifunza, kubadilishana uzoefu na kuimarisha ushirikiano.

Kupitia programu ya UZIKWASA kwa ushirikiano na , iliyoanza mwaka 2018, zaidi ya mashirika 140 yamewezeshwa kutumia mbinu hizi kuongeza ufanisi wa kazi zao, kushughulikia ukatili dhidi ya wanawake na watoto, kukabiliana na mabadiliko ya tabianchi, na kuimarisha uongozi wa kimkakati.

Hatua hizi pia zinaisaidia Tanzania kuwa katika nafasi nzuri ya kutekeleza Malengo ya Maendeleo Endelevu.

International Mother Earth Day UZIKWASA
Mother Earth is calling for urgent action. From plastic-filled oceans to extreme heat and deforestation, nature is under threat, and so are we. At UZIKWASA, our work in Pangani facilitating village environmental committees has helped position women at the center of protecting Mother Earth, while easing women’s burden caused by climate change and creating alternatives that turn waste into useful products. This Mother Earth Day, let’s act together to reduce waste, protect nature, and promote sustainable living. 💚
