The Mnarani Marine Turtle Conservation Pond is a community based group established in 1993 as an effort to conserve the population of sea turtles native to Zanzibar island The group activities include:

Loading for 20th of February 2026..!

To all the curious peoples who love Sea Turtles visiting our beautiful Zanzibar. It’s that time of the year again where we are EXTREMELY EXCITED!

We are having a 🐢 release day on the 20th of February! We are releasing more then 50 of these majestic creatures back into the sea!
Our turtle releases are extremely popular events! To avoid disappointment please book your tickets and pay for them as soon as possible! This can be done through either calling, texting or WhatsApp.

PLEASE NOTE: Children under the age of six can come for free with an adult who has purchased a ticket HOWEVER they will NOT get a release day T-shirt, there are some T-shirt’s available for sale for children on the actual day. Please also note that children under the age of 8 will not be allowed to handle the turtles due to welfare issues and the potential risks of contracting salmonella.
When you are booking please let us know whether you will be accompanied by a child.
