Clean cooking access in Tanzania is improving, but the gap remains urgent.
From 6.9% in 2021 to 20.3% in 2025, progress is clear. Yet nearly 80% of households still rely on biomass such as firewood and charcoal. This affects health, forests, and livelihoods.
There is a need for effective interventions, strategic investment, and strong partnerships within Tanzania and globally.
Government, development partners, private sector, financiers, innovators, and civil society all have a role to play in scaling solutions that are affordable, accessible, and sustainable.
Together we can work on scaling clean cooking technologies, expanding financing for households and enterprises, strengthening partnerships, and supporting policy implementation.
Reaching 80% clean cooking access by 2034 is possible through coordinated action.
This is the time to act, invest, and partner for impact.
