Happy Workers’ Day 2026: Meet Msoka, Employee of the Year, 21 Years of Service at Amani
At Amani, some stories are not just about work; they are about purpose, commitment, and lasting impact. Today, we shine a light on Teacher Msoka, one of the pillars of our journey.
He joined Amani in 2005 as the first teacher and has now served for 21 years. Over that time, he also played an important role in introducing the MEMKWA programme, which created a second chance for children who missed formal education to return to learning and rebuild their future.
His motivation has remained steady over the years. He believes every child, no matter their background, can change when given care, patience, and education. For him, the most powerful moments are when a child begins to change, gains confidence, and starts to see a different future.
The work has not been easy. Many children arrive with difficult experiences from street life, and the journey of change takes time. But through patience, counselling, and consistent teaching, many begin to transform step by step.
One story that stands out for him is Ramadhan. After struggling with drug use, he joined MEMKWA, learned to read and write, completed primary education in a shorter time, continued to secondary school, and later graduated from university. Today, he works as a teacher in Simiyu Region and supports his family.
Teacher Msoka always says, “Street children are children like any others, and they deserve respect, love, and opportunity.” His journey reflects what Amani stands for: transformation through education and belief in every child’s future.
