East Africa Cup Join us on our 24th anniversary of empowering youth through sports & education. June 24-June 28, 2026

The East Africa Cup (EAC) is an annual sports for development event held in Moshi, Tanzania the last ten days of June. The East Africa Cup mixes football with first aid classes; it's a training event for local coaches, community leaders and journalists. It's a youth tournament which features sitting volleyball and young people with disabilities are actively involved. It's about cultural exchange

and learning, not just winning matches – and for most of the young people involved it's their first trip abroad. On each morning of the event, and before a ball is kicked, young players attend workshops in topics like HIV and AIDS prevention, leadership skills and conflict resolution. After the games there is a cultural exchange programme which features dance, theatre and music from participating countries. And there are masterclasses from local and international experts, so that leaders too gain from the experience by learning more about things like sports medicine, refereeing, coaching and community youth participation. Around 2,000 participants get involved, roughly 100 teams, and we are very proud of our gender ratio – half of participants are girls.
