As we celebrate World Zero Emissions Day, we are reminded that protecting nature is an essential part of addressing climate change. EAMCEF supports the call to action for a cleaner, lower-emission future and highlights the importance of reducing emissions while strengthening natural carbon sinks.
EAMCEF’s conservation journey in the Eastern Arc Mountains (EAMs), within the 9 priority Protected Areas, through protection, forest restoration, and sustainable local community livelihood improvements in 244 respective adjacent villages, continues to contribute to climate resilience and carbon storage.
..With EAMCEF’s support since 2006, carbon dioxide storage increased from 323.47 million tonnes of CO₂ in 2005 to 324.63 million tonnes in 2020.
Every forest protected, every degraded landscape restored, and every community engaged contributes to a healthier, more climate-resilient future.
