Tengeneza Generation-TEG Our activities are delivered by young people willing to become agents of change. We also support and work along side different organizations and individuals

Tengeneza Generation (TEG) is a grassroots charity founded in 2011 by a young man named Pius Mbogo Matunge. His drive, hard work and leadership allowed him and his team to make positive changes to the environment in their local community. Because of their successes, in 2014 TEG was registered as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). We believe that youth is a key catalyst to change - through harn

essing their leadership and fresh ideas, the environment can be conserved and we can jointly tackle prejudice in Morogoro and Tanzania as a whole. Our activities are delivered by young people, willing to become agents for change. We also get support and work alongside different organizations and individuals, both locally and internationally, including NGOs, government institutions, businesses, community groups and individuals - all passionate about delivering sustainable development in their communities.

During the program, Our volunteers had the opportunity to learn the art of traditional pottery directly from a local woman and skilled artisan.

After learning the traditional techniques, they got hands-on and created their own bowls, pots, and other clay pieces using locally sourced clay.

This is more than just an activity, it’s a chance to connect with local communities, learn about Tanzania’s cultural heritage, and experience traditional art in a meaningful way.

Volunteer. Learn. Connect.

The best conservation ideas don’t come from just one organisation, they come from the whole community.

Together with IUCN, the EU, Community-Based Forest Management (CBFM), Wildlife Management Area (WMA), and forest and wildlife experts from across Tanzania, we are spending three days in Morogoro. We are working to understand what really makes community-led forest and wildlife management succeed, including the key factors, real challenges, and a shared plan for scaling up.

At TEG, we are working with the family foundation to develop our five-year strategy. This workshop helps us learn and share best practices to support conservation in the Eastern Arc Mountains of Morogoro. The primary objective of the workshop is to develop a work plan that will guide us, as conservationists, in protecting forests, conserving wildlife, and improving the lives of communities involved in these efforts.
Our director, Pius Matunge , is representing TEG at the workshop.

Sometimes the best classroom is the football field⚽️!
Sports are a vital part of every child's growth, helping to build teamwork, confidence, discipline, and healthy habits.
We had an amazing time joining the students from Kiloka Primary school for a friendly football match, where every pass, laugh, and goal became a lesson in itself.

For more updates, keep intouch with us!

At Kiroka Primary School, learning goes beyond the classroom. As part of their life skills education, pupils gain hands on agricultural skills by growing vegetables in the school's garden. The fresh produce is used to prepare nutritious lunches for all students, making the garden both a learning space and a source of healthy meals.

Our partners Backpack Brothers had the opportunity to work alongside the students in preparing and cultivating the garden, creating a memorable experience of teamwork, learning, and community service.

We continue to welcome organizations, volunteers, and partners who are passionate about creating lasting impact in the communities surrounding the beautiful Uluguru Mountains.
