Tengeneza Generation (TEG) is a grassroots charity founded in 2011 by a young man named Pius Mbogo Matunge. His drive, hard work and leadership allowed him and his team to make positive changes to the environment in their local community. Because of their successes, in 2014 TEG was registered as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). We believe that youth is a key catalyst to change - through harn

essing their leadership and fresh ideas, the environment can be conserved and we can jointly tackle prejudice in Morogoro and Tanzania as a whole. Our activities are delivered by young people, willing to become agents for change. We also get support and work alongside different organizations and individuals, both locally and internationally, including NGOs, government institutions, businesses, community groups and individuals - all passionate about delivering sustainable development in their communities.

The U.S. Embassy team focused on youth opportunities together with department of arts, and creativity recently visited Morogoro and the conversations were both inspiring and impactful.

Together, we explored the realities of creating meaningful opportunities for young creatives in Tanzania, moving beyond ideas into real pathways for collaboration, innovation, partnerships, and sustainable impact.

One thing stood out clearly: organizations that invest in young people today are helping shape a stronger and more creative tomorrow.

It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen networks, and discuss the future of youth empowerment through arts, creativity, and innovation.

Kikao hiki kililenga kufanya tathmini ya maendeleo ya mashirika baada ya maboresho ya uwezo wa kiutendaji yaliyofadhiliwa na shirika hili.

Hivyo, tulipata nafasi ya kuwasilisha muelekeo wa shirika, pamoja na mafanikio, mifumo tuliyoanzisha, pamoja na changamoto tunazokutana nazo katika utekelezaji wa miradi.

This week pushed us to rethink, refine, and turn our ideas into practical, sustainable solutions. We were proud to be among several NGOs that successfully presented their innovative ideas and learned how to pitch them with confidence.

Beyond that, we built meaningful connections, formed partnerships, and shared valuable moments together while learning and growing.
