The Young Strong Mothers Foundation YSMF Morogoro, Tanzania 🇹🇿. We are proud to have led the translation and distribution of the children’s storybook “Vile Mungu anataka Uwe,” a powerful resource that explores the journey of patriarchy in our communities through a child-friendly, illustrated approach.

Through this work, Young Strong Mothers Foundation (YSMF) was entrusted to translate the book into Swahili, grounded in Tanzanian values and context, making it accessible and meaningful to children and communities.

During distribution, we engaged children through dialogue, drama, songs, and storytelling, linking the content to gender equality and human rights. The impact has been powerful children are reflecting, asking questions, and communities are opening up to new conversations.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Imago Dei and GCLW for their trust and partnership in making this possible.
This is more than a book it is a step toward transforming mindsets and shaping a more equal future.

PLATFORM FOR ACTION ON GENDER EQUALITY AND HUMAN RIGHTS

“Let Education Continue: From You to Others” held on 28.03.2026 at Morogoro Municipal Council.

Through the Empowerment through Skills Program (ESP), the event brought together 60 participants (women and men) who were trained on gender equality and human rights.

Training Objectives for the 60 Community Leaders (Women and Men):
• To increase leaders’ knowledge and capacity on gender equality and human rights
• To empower leaders to become agents of positive change in their communities
• To strengthen networks among community stakeholders and development partners
• To promote practical change, including engaging men and boys and supporting those at risk

We extend our sincere gratitude to:

🇹🇿 The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania for supporting this initiative
Special thanks to the Honourable Mayor of Morogoro, represented by Hon. Batuli Kifea, Special Seats Councilor and Secretary of Women Councilors. We highly value her presence, insights, and contribution to this event.

We also thank all stakeholders and partners, including organizations working to combat gender-based violence such as Zuia Trafficking, Morogoro Paralegal, security organs, religious leaders, Boma Ward leaders and offices, media, Bigwa FDC, legal institutions, the YSMF Board, and the entire YSMF team.

Kupitia Mradi wa Uwezeshaji kupitia Ujuzi (Empowerment through Skills Program - ESP), hafla hii iliwakutanisha washiriki 60 (wanawake na wanaume) waliopatiwa mafunzo ya usawa wa kijinsia na haki za binadamu.

Lengo la Mafunzo kwa Viongozi 60 (Wanawake na Wanaume):
Kuongeza uelewa na uwezo wa viongozi kuhusu usawa wa kijinsia na haki za binadamu.
Kuwezesha viongozi kuwa mabalozi wa mabadiliko chanya katika jamii zao.
Kuimarisha mitandao ya wadau wa kijamii na mashirika ya maendeleo.
Kuchochea mabadiliko yanayoonekana: kushirikisha wanaume na wavulana, kusaidia wale waliopo hatarini.

Through the Empowerment through Skills Program (ESP) funded by the Government of Canada and implemented by Young Strong Mothers Foundation (YSMF), today we have officially commenced a three-day training on Gender Equality and Human Rights, as part of completing the fourth phase of the program.
These trainings have reached a total of 60 community leaders across four phases (15 leaders per phase), with the aim of equipping them with proper knowledge, building their capacity to educate their communities in an appropriate manner, promoting equality, respect, and dignity, and contributing to the reduction of gender-based violence and discrimination. Additionally, the leaders have been guided on appropriate procedures for reporting cases and accessing support services when needed.
Through this initiative, we expect these leaders to become agents of positive change in their communities by promoting good values, unity, and mutual respect.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Government of Canada and the entire ESP team for their support, and we congratulate the YSMF team for the great work being done.

Kupitia mradi wa Empowerment through Skills Program (ESP) unaofadhiliwa na Serikali ya Canada na kutekelezwa na Young Strong Mothers Foundation (YSMF), leo tumeanza mafunzo ya siku tatu kuhusu Usawa wa Kijinsia na Haki za Binadamu, ikiwa ni sehemu ya kukamilisha mzunguko wa awamu ya nne.
Mafunzo haya yamewafikia viongozi 60 wa jamii kupitia awamu nne (kila awamu viongozi 15), yakiwa na lengo la kuwapatia uelewa sahihi, kuwajengea uwezo wa kuelimisha jamii zao kwa njia stahiki, kuhamasisha usawa, heshima na utu, pamoja na kusaidia kupunguza vitendo vya ukatili na ubaguzi katika jamii. Vilevile, viongozi wamejengewa uelewa wa namna ya kufuata taratibu sahihi za kutoa taarifa na kupata msaada pale panapohitajika.
Kupitia mafunzo haya, tunatarajia kuona viongozi hawa wakiwa chachu ya mabadiliko chanya katika jamii kwa kuendeleza maadili mema, mshik**ano na kuheshimiana.

On Siku ya Mtoto wa K**e Duniani 2025, the Young Strong Mothers Foundation (YSMF) joined hands with .tanzania to celebrate and champion the Girls’ Agenda under the inspiring theme “Mimi ni Msichana Kinara wa Mabadiliko kwa Tanzania Tuitakayo 2050.” The celebration brought together passionate girls and young women to discuss their dreams, challenges, and leadership in shaping a better Tanzania. Through dialogue, mentorship, and storytelling, we reminded every girl that she has the power to influence change, break barriers, and build the future she envisions. Together, we celebrated not just the girl child, but the strength, courage, and potential of every girl to lead transformation in her community and beyond.

đź’§ From Challenge to Change: A New Well for Our Community! đź’§

For years, our community faced the daily challenge of walking long distances in search of clean and safe water. This struggle affected families, children, and especially women who carried the burden of fetching water instead of focusing on education, work, or family well-being.

✨ Yesterday, we proudly launched a new water well – a life-changing project made possible through the generosity of Lisa Elser and Jamal Mbarak along with the heartfelt contributions of many volunteers who gave their time and support.

đźš° This well will bring:

Safe and clean water closer to homes.

Reduced health risks caused by unsafe water.

Time saved for women and girls, empowering them to focus on school and other opportunities.

A stronger, healthier community built on dignity and hope.

We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who made this dream a reality. Together, we have turned a challenge into a lasting solution. 🌍💙
