All the way from Arusha, This week, we were excited to welcome 20 students from our partner Forestry Training Institute for a five-week Field Practical Training journey.
This week was all about open mapping and practical geospatial digitization skills, bringing learning beyond the classroom and into real-world mapping.
And Friday was 🔥!
We were privileged to host Kingsley from TomTom, who kicked off the day with an amazing session on , sharing practical insights on how we can improve and contribute to OpenStreetMap data.
Then came the Mapathon! 🗺️💪🏾
The competition was REAL! Teams pushed themselves, mapped together, and challenged each other ultimately contributing over 10,000+ buildings to OpenStreetMap. 🌍✨ Via the tasking manager project #62641 #62640
We were especially excited to celebrate our Mapathon champions 💪🎉 who walked away with some amazing goodies from TomTom! 🏆🎁
