Progress on the Kanyelele Girls’ Dormitory Compound has been incredible! Thanks to the amazing Africa Schoolhouse team moving fluidly through each phase, we are right on schedule.

Even more inspiring—the girls are already counting down the days until they can move in. The compound will be life-changing, giving them safe access to school and space in which to thrive.

We can’t wait to welcome them to their new home! 💕

Africa Schoolhouse is proud to have incredible women on our construction team—building not just structures, but opportunity for the next generation.

Some, like Marietta, have been with us since 2017, starting as a cook before training as a mason. Today, she’s a skilled builder who has helped construct two girls’ dormitory compounds.

These women show strength, resilience, and determination every day—breaking barriers, mastering new trades, and supporting each other every step of the way. We honor their dedication, their craftsmanship, and the powerful example they set for young girls everywhere.

The Africa Schoolhouse team is making great progress at the Kanyelele Girls’ Dorm compound! The dorm walls are up and the foundations for baths, showers and dorm mother’s house are well underway!

The Kanyelele Girls Dorm is on the rise— this week the foundation walls went up! Thank you to all of our wonderful donors for making this possible!

We are so thankful for the Africa Schoolhouse construction team, a talented group of women and men who are working to build the new girls dormitory at Kanyelele School. Today, they successfully poured the foundation footings! Many thanks to Engineer Benjamin John, Director Jefta Kishosha, our foremen Elisha Kayange, Amos Sungururu, Mapambano Fukuji, accountant Baniah Jonathan and all of the construction team for their dedication and hard work.

Africa Schoolhouse broke ground yesterday on a new girls’ dormitory compound at Kanyelele Secondary School in rural Tanzania. 🎉 The girls got to try on hard hats and safety vests — and even dig the very first shovelfuls of their future dorm’s foundation. Stay tuned as we watch the dorm grow week by week! 💕📚💕
