Strengthening philanthropy starts with creating the right environment for it to thrive.
With support from WINGS, the Legal Services Facility (LSF) is implementing the Strengthening the Enabling Environment for Philanthropy in Tanzania through Legal Reform, Strategic Collaboration, and Public Engagement project.
Working alongside the Tanzania Network of Legal Aid Providers (TANLAP), the Foundation for Civil Society (FCS), the National Council of NGOs (NaCONGO), and the Tanganyika Law Society (TLS), LSF has established a multi-stakeholder task force to assess Tanzania's philanthropic ecosystem. Through a comprehensive analysis, the task force identified key legal, policy, institutional, and operational barriers affecting the growth of philanthropy.
The insights and recommendations from this collaborative effort will help shape strategies and policy reforms that strengthen collaboration, mobilize domestic resources, and foster a more enabling environment where philanthropy can grow and make a lasting impact across Tanzania.
