Forest Focus is dedicated and committed to reconstruction and reformation of different forest levels from forest gardens to Nature reserves. Forest focus is driven by a philosophy that for humanity to excel forests of different sorts should well be managed and protected. To succeed its mission, Forest Focus seeks to dictate planting of multipurpose environmentally friendly trees with quick economic and ecological impacts to the communities. This refabricates an old mode which at most points included trees with higher allelopathic characteristics or intensively degraded soils.

We recognize the women who work the land, nurture seedlings, restore forests and support their families and communities through their dedication to nature.

As we mark 2026, the International Year of the Woman Farmer, we celebrate the vital role women play in food security, environmental conservation and building resilient communities.

Through tree planting and forest restoration, we believe that empowering rural women creates opportunities for income, strengthens livelihoods and contributes to a greener, more sustainable future.

Coastal erosion and storm surges threaten shorelines, habitats, and the communities that depend on healthy coastal ecosystems.

COP12 of the Nairobi Convention has come to an end, but the work continues.

Held in Dar es Salaam, the conference brought together countries, partners and stakeholders from across the Western Indian Ocean to advance solutions for protecting marine and coastal ecosystems, addressing climate change and pollution, conserving biodiversity, and building resilient coastal communities.

For Forest Focus, COP12 was an opportunity to share experiences, learn from others, build meaningful partnerships and strengthen our commitment to conservation and restoration especially in forests, mangroves and coastal ecosystems.

We are taking these new insights and connections forward to support practical action and create lasting impact for communities and nature across Tanzania.

Forest Focus Continues Community Engagement Along the Pangani River Basin

The Forest Focus team continues to provide environmental education and engage communities in villages located along the Pangani River Basin, including areas where our tree-planting sites are established.

As part of this ongoing engagement, the team has been meeting with village leaders to strengthen community participation in protecting planted and naturally regenerating trees from human activities that may threaten their survival, including uncontrolled livestock grazing.

These engagements also help communities prepare for the upcoming tree-planting season, ensuring that local leaders and community members are informed, involved, and ready to support restoration activities in their areas.

Protecting trees is a shared responsibility. Together, we can restore and protect our landscapes.

When the land degrades, communities feel the impact.

Land degradation reduces vegetation cover, weakens soils, threatens agricultural productivity, and can make landscapes less resilient to climate pressures.

But degraded land can recover.

Planting trees is part of restoring the land. Trees help protect soil, rebuild vegetation cover, support natural regeneration, and create healthier landscapes for people and nature.

Restoration is not just about planting more trees it is about giving the land a chance to recover.

Let’s restore our landscapes before degradation becomes harder to reverse.

NACONGO Tanga Regional Forum Successfully Concluded

The NACONGO Tanga Regional Forum has successfully concluded, bringing together various stakeholders to strengthen collaboration, share experiences, and advance initiatives that contribute to sustainable development and environmental conservation in the Tanga Region.

The forum was chaired by the Chairperson of NACONGO Tanga Region, who is also the Executive Director of Forest Focus, while the Regional Commissioner of Tanga, Hon. Batilda Burian, served as the Guest of Honour.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all stakeholders, partners, participants, and everyone who contributed to the planning and successful implementation of the forum.

Together, through collaboration and collective action, we can create lasting positive impact for communities, the environment, and sustainable development.
