Today marks the successful conclusion of a three-day strategic meeting on mangrove conservation and coastal biodiversity preservation, held from 28th–30th May in Dar es Salaam.
Forest Focus was proudly represented by our Executive Director, Khalifa Mganga, and Assistant Executive Director, Anthony Mbilinyi. We were honored to join fellow conservation stakeholders, including Tanzania tanzania_forest Forest Services (TFS) and wwftanzania WWF, in advancing discussions aimed at strengthening systems for the collection, management, and preservation of environmental data.
A key outcome of the meeting was the development of a coordinated strategy to improve coastal data collection and information sharing, enabling more effective monitoring of mangrove ecosystems and supporting evidence-based conservation efforts along Tanzania’s coastline.
As we continue working toward healthier ecosystems, restored biodiversity, and resilient coastal communities, collaborations like these remain essential in shaping a sustainable future for both people and nature.
Together, we can protect our mangroves, conserve biodiversity, and strengthen the resilience of our coastal environments for generations to come. 🌍💚
