Today, as we celebrate the Day of the African Child, we also remember the history of this significant day. On June 16, 1976, thousands of Soweto students marched to protest the discriminatory education system and demand quality, free, and equal education for all children. Tragically, police opened fire on those students, and hundreds of children lost their lives while thousands more were injured.
That event sparked a major international debate about children's rights, and ultimately in 1991, the African Union then known as the OAU officially declared that June 16 each year would be the Day of the African Child, as a commemoration honoring the Soweto uprising.
Today, this commemoration reminds us of our responsibility as governments, communities, and institutions to ensure that children receive quality education without discrimination of any kind.
In recognition of that, Bridge Foundation has held seminars to empower children to understand their rights, as well as providing school supplies and uniforms to orphans and children from the most difficult circumstances over 350 children in total.
At present, we are in the final stages of constructing a center that will receive children who are at great risk, in order to provide them with shelter, care, education, and healthcare services.
We thank God for the grace of touching their lives, and we thank all who continue to support us in building these children an opportunity to fulfill their dreams like everyone else.
We are living out the philosophy of the Day of the African Child in action advocating for the right to education for all children and rejecting discrimination in education.

Yesterday marked the official beginning of the Vo🎤ce of Hope Program, even as the construction of Harmony Haven Children’s Home continues step by step toward completion.In the midst of unfinished walls and ongoing work,something beautiful has already begun,hope is rising through music.
This program was created for children and young people living in vulnerable situations around our community. Many carry silent pain,deep wounds,fear,loneliness,and stories too heavy for their young hearts.but we believe music has a special way of reaching where words cannot.A melody can comfort a hurting soul,restore peace to a troubled heart,and remind a child that they are seen, valued,and loved.
Voice of Hope is more than music lessons.It is a safe place for healing,joy,confidence, and new beginnings.A place where broken spirits can slowly be restored,smiles can return again,and children can dream beyond their circumstances.

Construction Progress Update – Harmony Haven Children’s Home
We are excited to announce a significant milestone in our journey-construction of the kitchen, storage facility, and dining hall is now underway.This essential development will provide a well-equipped space where nutritious meals will be prepared and shared, fostering both health and a sense of community among the children.Meanwhile, Bock One at Harmony Haven Children’s Home has reached its final phase of completion. Current works include skimming, tiling, painting, installation of window glass and other finishing touches to ensure the space is safe, comfortable, and ready to welcome the children into their new home.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to every individual and partner whose compassion, generosity, and unwavering support continue to drive this mission forward. Your contribution is not only shaping infrastructure but also restoring dignity,nurturing hope,and transforming lives.
