In El Shaddai Centre in Kibaha, Tanzania, we help severely disabled children to get a better chance in life. In many cases, the children have no relatives, or just one parent or grandmother, mostly with no means to feed and take care of the child. Because of this, when a child is handed over to us to care for, even if there is a relative, we are in most cases not given any money (or extremely smal
l amounts) to cover the food costs. As we, a few people (2 helpers, founder Salome + her two children) live and eat together, it is a constant struggle even to feed all of us. We dream to be able to buy special chairs and other things for the needs and development of the disabled children. We do everything with almost no means but with a strong love for these children (today in total 42 children are registered with us, not all of them staying here) and with a will to make their life a bit more humane.
