The Cultural Tourism Program is part of the governmental Tanzania Tourist Program and the non-governmental Tanzania Association of Cultural Tourism Organizers and offers more than ten different tours, as well as the opportunity to have accommodation with local people. Furthermore, tourist can participate in Social Development Projects and help e.g. with building schools or renovate classrooms, pro
viding educational material or planting trees. The main goal of this program is to create an income from tourism in Tanzania for the people living in Karatu District. All returns of the Cultural Tourism Program are used to support the environmental and health program of KCECHO.
