In celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child, partnered with Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) to donate 9,500 sanitary pads to 600 girls across Chunyu, Mazae, and Ving’hawe Secondary Schools in Mpwapwa District, Dodoma.
Head of Compliance at DTB Tanzania, Lilian Kawa, emphasized the bank’s commitment to supporting girls’ education and dignity, noting the stigma many face when asking male guardians for menstrual products.
On the other hand, AGF board member Dr. Hawa Mkwela urged responsible use of the pads and raised awareness about health risks linked to misuse.
Additionally, Ester Godfrey, a student at Chunyu Secondary School, expressed appreciation for the donation and highlighted the shortage of toilets and beds in girls’ hostels.
AGF Legal Officer and Acting Director, Advocate Fatuma Mnzava, noted that the pads will sustain each girl for five to six months, and reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to menstrual health education through student clubs and ongoing outreach.

This year’s theme, “The girl I am, the change I lead.”
