Farmers in the districts of Kondoa, Chemba, and Bahi in Dodoma Region are expected to benefit from accurate rainfall data collected through scientific equipment installed by TMA in collaboration with INADES-Formation Tanzania.
This initiative aims to enable farmers to make informed agricultural decisions, increase productivity, and address the impacts of climate change, Mr. M***a Kidato, the Tanzania Meteorological Agency Zonal Manager-Central said in Dodoma.
The equipment has been installed in four villages in Kisima cha Ndege, Gwandi, Potea and Pongai in the three districts, where farmers have been trained to measure and record rainfall levels.
According to INADES-Formation Managing Director Ms. Jacqueline Nicodemus, the information will help farmers understand rainfall patterns and make timely decisions about crop selection each growing season.
"This partnership seeks to bridge the gap in access to weather information at the farmer level enabling them to plan their agricultural activities," she said.
Ms Amina Lungi, a farmer in Potea village, Kondoa district acknowledged the support, saying it will help boost agricultural production in their village and the district at large.
