Mindful of continued alcohol, to***co and other drugs use and, realizing the problems of alcohol and other drugs abuse, Tanzania has long before set regulations on alcohol and to***co sale and use. Unfortunately, the regulations have largely remained an-enforced and, people have continued to break the set regulations without being charged. Although alcohol and to***co use control initiatives have
been going on in Tanzania for years, the impact of these initiatives has not been felt due to lack of co-ordination at national level. Available information on alcohol to***co other drugs use and related problems are also not well documented to enable the establishment of a well-planned and viable alcohol, to***co and other drugs use control programs. Therefore, the need to co-ordinate alcohol to***co and other drugs use associated problems (Poverty, HIV/AIDS, GBV…) control initiatives, to enable sustainable enforcement of alcohol to***co and other drugs use control activities are indispensable; hence formation of the Sr. Jacinta & Geir Gundersen Africa Foundation, “Sr.J&GGAF” or Global Youth Network "GYN", is partly justified. Sister Jacinta & Geir Gundersen Africa Foundation or Global Youth Network is a Foundation Trustee, a coalition of associations and individuals from government agencies, NGOs, academic, public and private institutions, MPs and other stakeholders with common interest in Substances abuse related problems control especially Alcohol, drugs abuse and to***co. (More) It is a Non-Governmental organization working with the issue of Alcohol, To***co and Drugs Abuse related problems under Christian values and uniting peoples in their communities especially youths and marginalized people to fight against alcoholism, to***co and drug abuse associated problems and bringing their own development. Sister Jacinta & Geir Gundersen Africa Foundation subsequently called “Sr.J&GGAF” or/famous as Global Youth Networking on Alcohol, Drug abuse, HIV/AIDS, Gender Based Violence, Legal Aid and Paralegal Services / Human Rights and Poverty alleviation Control Initiative is a voluntary organization introduced in Tanzania in early nineteen nineties by the late Sister Jacinta in collaboration with Akilimali Y Shukuru, a Swiss Nun of Baldegue/ Benedictine Congregations and the initiator of Blue Cross International activities in Tanzania. Promoted after being working under different names (Blue Cross Tanznaia Ilala Branch / Supporting Tanzania Trust, Blue Cross International Supporting Tanzania Trust, etc, later in 2014 a Foundation Network NGO was officially registered in the country to keep the memory of her deed and of the alive Mr. Geir Gundersen, as well as to care for all programs, projects, services and activities planned, which she was devoted to and and all of us liked the most: “serving the community especially youth, vulnerable children and disadvantages groups such as disabled, orphans, poor and marginalized community, to provide legal aid and paralegal services, //legal empowerment with enhancement of the provision of legal aid services with emphasis on good governance, protection of the rights of women and children, youth and elderly and other vulnerable marginalized groups and/or societies in rural and urban communities, to empower woman and the undeserved in areas by promoting Education and Health to vulnerability urban, rural and hard to reach areas communities in Tanzania as well as in all Africa so as to create a clean and beautiful village and harmonious regional development for them and future not otherwise. Finally, also She adored the most enhancing public health and social economic growth through effective control of substances abuse, GBV, HIV/AIDS and strategies to alleviate poverty primarily connected with alcohol to***co and drug use in the community, this is the main scope of work of Sr. Therefore;
Sister Jacinta & Geir Gundersen Africa Foundation (Sr.J&GGAF) or Global Youth Network (GYN) shall be a non-profit organization Network devoted to fulfilling the vision, mission and objectives specified in the Foundation Network Constitution. Main objective is: To work towards the improvement of public health and socioeconomic status of the Tanzania population through control of alcohol, to***co and all other drugs abuse. (Or: Enhance and champion alcohol, to***co and drug abuse control in Tanzania as well in Africa.)
