In-line with Commemorations of International Day of Peace 2026, we present the 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦 𝐨𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡, 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚, which will be convened from Sept 18 - 20, 2025 at JNICC - Dar es Salaam, under the theme “𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞”.

The forum will bring together over 1,000 young leaders, policymakers, peacebuilders, development partners, and other key stakeholders to exchange ideas, strengthen collaboration, and advance meaningful action on youth, peace, and security.

Lydia fetches water at a rehabilitated community water point in Nawamor village, Turkana, Kenya.

Before the borehole was repaired, families walked for hours to collect water from a shallow hand-dug well shared with livestock. For women and girls, who often carry the responsibility of fetching water, this meant long journeys through difficult terrain, especially during floods and dry seasons.

With support from Oxfam, the German Federal Foreign Office and local partner Davis & Shirtliff, the water point now provides cleaner, more reliable water closer to home.

Today we join the world in commemorating the World Day Against Child Labour. Every child has the right to live safely, access education, play, and grow up in a loving and protective environment. Let us not allow children to be deprived of their dreams by being forced into work that endangers their health, safety, and development.

Let us speak with one voice: WE SHOW A RED CARD TO CHILD LABOUR!
