Our Story
We promote Islamic entrepreneurship, business ethics and leadership in Somaliland and across Africa
Business and Economic Empowerment Forum is a non-governmental community development organization. We are dedicated to promoting Islamic Entrepreneurship in Somaliland and across Africa.
Our religion, Islam, encourages and enables entrepreneurial activities: opportunity pursuit, risk-taking and innovation. It tells people to seek this world but to not be consumed by it. Its financial arrangements forbid interest and instead support financial investments that can be regarded as venture capital.
Our concept of Islamic entrepreneurship is based on three pillars: value creation, values enactment and a metaphysical pursuit towards God. It is a holistic approach that brings religious beliefs, values and meaning to the core of entrepreneurial endeavors. We assist and motivate business people and entrepreneurs in Somaliland and across Africa to work together to improve the conditions of doing business. Our aim is to link, develop and support businesses and business-people through business development, retention and expansion, entrepreneurial support, opportunity promotion, and the collection and assessment of key business data. We also give Muslim entrepreneurs the tools to understand how their own faith or the faith of colleagues, employees and other stakeholders impact their professional lives.
