MAWAZO Youth Challenge Tanzania #2025 is looking for purpose-driven youth who have creative solutions and innovative ideas that solve community challenges in Tanzania. Who we are looking for?
We are looking for youth aged between 18 to 35 years (individuals or teams) working on a solution that leverage technology applicable to the context of Tanzania to least one of the following priority areas;
✅ Entertainment and Culture-Based Solutions
Creative solutions that harness arts, culture, and storytelling for social change especially the youth. To explore how creative industries drive community mobilization, policy influence, and national or global narratives.
Key focus areas include among others;
*Storytelling For Impact,
*Artivism,
*Cultural heritage as a tool for social justice.
✅ Climate change and Environmental Sustainability
i. Agribusiness, green business.
*Agri-Tech solutions for a more sustainable, efficient and climate-resilient Agriculture and Food Security inTanzania
ii. Energy and just transition.
*Low carbon energy: can you cut the amount of energy we use in our everyday lives? Can you help make the switch to cleaner source of energy?
*Low carbon mobility: electric vehicles, non-motorised transport, shared mobility – or surprise us with your ideas.
iii. Blue economy and marine protection
* Plastic waste prevention: Reuse, sharing, upcycling, extended product lifespans, sustainable materials – or any options to reduce plastic waste.

Who Can Apply: The challenge welcomes diverse applicants working on a solution that leverage technology regardless of their sector, educational background who are based in Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar.
