Millions of girls and women remain underrepresented in ICT and STEM, with gaps that emerge early in education and limit future opportunities.
Closing the digital gender gap requires transforming education systems through gender-transformative and inclusive approaches. Teachers play a key role in creating learning environments where girls feel confident, supported, and able to participate fully in digital education.
UNESCO, with Beijing Normal University (BNU), INRULED, and the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, is strengthening ICT teacher training and advancing gender-transformative digital education that empowers girls and supports more inclusive learning systems.
👉 UNESCO calls for greater investment in inclusive, gender-transformative education so every girl can learn, participate, and thrive in the digital world.
