TCDC is a locally formed and registered non-governmental organization formed by a blend of talented and professional Tanzanians with a rich mix of over 20 years experience in designing, implementing, managing and evaluating social behavior change communication, public health, social marketing and community mobilization programs in Tanzania and abroad. TCDC provides expertise in the areas of health
communication, social marketing and capacity building. Specific focus is on malaria, HIV/AIDS, family planning, safe motherhood and nutrition. TCDC also has extensive research and financial management experience arising from members who have a strong research and finance management background. TCDC finance team comes with experience of managing large donor funds ranging from USAID, DFID as well as government-channeled funds from the Global Fund. TCDC has operational structures and offices across several regions in Tanzania. Regional managers provide a link between TCDC head office staff, local authorities, partner NGOs, Community Based Organizations (CBOs), Faith Based Organizations (FBOs), as well as district authorities, in planning and implementing Social behavior change communication (SBCC) and development programs. TCDC regional managers also supervise the work of sub-granted NGOs and community based organizations and volunteers. To ensure sustainability of activities and local ownership, TCDC engages in the capacity building of its partners including working together on designing, implementing, and evaluating social development programs in their regions.
