The organization is non profit and aimed at helping the poor, disabled and orphaned children to get quality education at nursery level. The organization deals with children under ten years of age.The organization provides clothes ,food and educational materials . Quentin, the founder of this school, taught at a for-profit private school for 17 years and was sad to see children who could not afford
this running around without help. This small school is always short on books to help the children at the school: nursery books, counting books, coloring books and picture books. He has two classes: Baby class is age 1.5- 3yrs and the next class is for age 4-8. There are 53 pupils! They need clothes for the kids. In a lot of countries like this, elementary school starts at age 8. But the kids who can afford private schools send their kids early to them to give them a better chance and then these other poor kids, when they turn 8, have had no foundation and have a lot of trouble in school. When the kids graduate from here they go on to a free govt elementary school but their parents need to come up with books and uniforms. If anyone wants to help- even if you want to mail a book yourself, please let me know. I am looking up places online you can order books and have them sent to the kids. Quentin and the other teacher at the school are dedicated and even go without any salary some months when they do not get enough donations from people. If you would like to send a letter to the kids or send a package here is the address: Saidia Watoto Nursery School
