The Development Society is a youth Organization within the Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Community of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Revived in 200, the Development Society has facilitated over 400 youths that have served the community under its umbrella. The Society, that works hand-in-hand with the Tabligh Community, works to create events for the community to engage them into an Islamic environment. With i

Highlights from the Quds Day Exhibition held on March 13th. This was a day of powerful reflection, learning, and unwavering support for our brothers and sisters.

Through engaging talks and evocative displays, we explored the deep history and the urgent current situation, reinforcing our commitment to justice and solidarity with Palestine. Seeing the community come together with shared empathy and purpose was deeply moving.

Special appreciation to the scholars and speakers who shed light on the significance of Quds Day and to everyone who visited to stand in solidarity.

Moments of Devotion and Fellowship. ✨

Looking back at our Ramadhan I’tikaf held from February 27th to March 1st. It was a spiritually uplifting three days dedicated entirely to worship, reflection, and community bonding.

Spending time in the house of Allah (SWT) in the company of brothers, engaging in discussions, and focusing on spiritual growth provided a powerful reminder of our purpose. The energy of devotion was truly inspiring.

Highlights of the Weekend:

Deepening our connection through prayer and supplication.

Enlightening talks and discussions.

Strengthening the bonds of brotherhood in a peaceful atmosphere.

May Allah accept all our efforts and keep the spirit of I’tikaf alive in our hearts.🤲

📍 Where? Al Muntazir Sports Park

📅 When? Sunday, 26th April, after Fajr – 1:00 PM

💰 Price? 5,000/= TZS per person

🚌 Transport? We would love to see you all join for Fajr Jamaat Salat at KSIJ Mosque. The bus will depart right after Fajr and return at 1:30 PM.

Our latest Baraza Circles event brought the youth together under the open sky to revive the Khoja tradition of outdoor discourse. We took a deep dive into a crowd-favorite topic—the world of Jinn—exploring scholarly perspectives on creations beyond our own.

The DS Youth Council was honored to host a communal Iftaar bringing together our Alumni, YCB, and SCB members.
