Africa Philanthropic Foundation is a platform that connects directly philanthropists and donor agencies with the impoverished and marginalized rural communities in Africa where majority (70%) of Africans reside and avails an opportunity for philanthropists and donors to experience the problems first-handedly and be part of the solution by participating directly in developing and implementing the s
olutions in partnership with the local communities and in collaboration with other stakeholders geared towards delivering real change on the ground and to the lives of communities involved. At Africa Philanthropic Foundation we seek to re-define African culture of giving and development partnership by developing a model for philanthropy in the region through innovative, strategic, impactful and sustainable community owned and led seamless solutions targeting and beneffiting impoverished and marginalized rural communities in Africa. Africa Philanthropic Foundation support the impoverished and marginalized communities in Africa with compelling needs to package and communicate their needs to their target audience and potential donors for support. Our philosophy is that; philanthropic, charitable and corporate social responsibility (CSR) donations and supports should reach and beneffit the majority (rural populations) directly, and most importantly those who need them the most at the lowest cost possible. We seek to facilitate the accessibility of philanthropic, donor and CSR funding by rural communities and groups in Africa instead of only elite urban communities and groups, and sometimes even conman as it is now. The Foundation works in partnership with impovrished and marginalized local communities in rural Africa and in collaboration with Government Authorities, local, national, regional and international Philanthropists, Philanthropic Foundations/Organisations, Corporates through CSR programmes, Donor Agencies, Bilateral and Multirateral Government Aid Agencies, Businesses and Industries and other Stakeholders in delivering sustainable solutions to the communities and furthering the aims of the foundation. Africa Philanthropic Foundation main focus is on sustainable development with specific focus on seven main thematic areas:
1. Education - improvement in quality of delivery of Primary and Secondary education;
3. Water - access to safe water and sanitation services;
4. ECA - Environment Protection, Conservation and Animal Welfare;
5. Integrity and Accountability- Foster good governance, integrity, transparency, accountability, sustainability, effectiveness and efficiency in civil society organisations, governments, private sector, development partners and other stakeholders in planning and executing development projects, through citizens' eyes
6. Partnerships for Sustainable Development - Foster partnerships between different stakeholders (Government, Citizens, Civil Society, Private Sector, Local Government Authorities, National Parliaments, Intergovernmental Organisation, Development Partners, and regional and international organisations) in delivering sustainable development at the grassroots, national, regional, and global level.
7. Citizen generated data - seek to mobilise and coordinate generation and distribution of citizen generated data as part of big data and contribute to data revolution initiatives in Africa
