CLARIFICATION: WE DON'T VOLUNTEER TO GET A JOB, BUT TO OFFER A SERVICE AND IMPACT COMMUNITY POSITIVELY.
Some people think that to be a volunteer member in an organisation like Manze Educational Foundation -MEF is an automatic gateway to finding employment in the organisation. This is misplaced expectation.
A volunteer member or worker is one who willingly donates his/her time and labour to a cause or organisation without being paid.
The work is voluntary, unpaid, and meant to benefit the community for humanitarian reasons.
However, reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses connected to logistics, meals, transport, and/or accommodation in exceptional circumstances is done.
In addition to out-of-pocket reimbursements, where applicable, benefits to a volunteer member includes improved metal and physical health, enhanced confidence and sense of purpose, and valuable new knowledge, skills and experiences that boosts one's resume or curriculum vitae (CV).
Above all, volunteering expands social networks by creating new friendships and connections within and outside the community. Furthermore, it increases happiness arising from satisfaction of having helped somebody who could have terribly suffered or died had it not for your intervention.
