The Association shall open auxiliary office and branches worldwide, when and where our activities will be required. Our functions and Operations shall be performed in Tanzania as base and Head Office but in Africa and worldwide when the need arises. The Association shall be able to transfer and extend knowledge, services and experiences from the fore mentioned area to any other parts within and without the boundaries worldwide. Who we are
The World DAFI Association (WDA) we are the multi professional association for all graduates world wide who were sponsored by DAFI "Deutsche Akademische Flüchtling Initiative" the funding provided by the Federal Government of German through the German Embassy. DAFI has operation in many countries worldwide. In Africa it includes Tanzania, Uganda, Ghana, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Sudan, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Mozambique, Liberia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Egypt, Cameroon, Botswana, Nigeria and Benin. Also DAFI operates in some countries of Asia which includes Syria, Russia Federation, Papua New Guinea, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, India, Czech Republic, Chile and Uzbekistan. In Eastern Europe DAFI operates in Yemen, Serbia and Montenegro, Bulgaria, and Georgia. DAFI also operates in Latin America which includes Uruguay, Ecuador, Brazil and Argentina. Our Mission
The Mission of WDA in collaboration with the United Nations Agencies, governments, local individuals and international organizations shall be assisting and enabling the society and community to relieve themselves for illiteracy which will lead to overcoming different disasters and calamities, poverty alleviation that prevails among them and bring about their social and economic development without forgetting the cultural rehabilitation and demonstration of love leading to strong bond of unity
Our Goals
The goal of the Association shall be to use and utilize the knowledge and training achieved through our different courses under DAFI scholarships to conduce towards improved post – crisis social – economic status of the people of the country members of Africa, Asia and world wide to equip them with the required knowledge and how they can improve individual economy, family, clan community and in collaboration with other organization that may have the same perception and the government involved. Support DAFI students on campuses world wide and also motivating them to join and remain active members of World DAFI Association to use their skills, knowledge and expertise in their different profession to impact the community and serving other people in similar or related need. Aims and Objectives
To recognize the tremendous contribution and immeasurable legacy of the investment made by DAFI to these marginalized and vulnerable societies, which has raised number of individuals to leadership, management, business operation and investment
To unite all the DAFI graduates and students in Africa, Asia and Worldwide to make a bond of power and strategies on how together we can use our legacy to impact others in same society facing similar or related challenges we had in process of getting education and also in any of the related needs as a process of poverty alleviation
To advocate for the community in particular the society where all DAFI graduates and students originate in the member states which including seeking funds, scholarships, contribution, sponsorship for further studies and undergraduates
To educate the particular society regarding their rights and responsibilities, guiding them to achieving the maximum compliance to the legal affairs of the hosting and asylum nation and the United Nations
To educate and promote self-reliance to unite the scarce resources they may have or achieved in their different profession to have an impact in their surrounding community
To use our knowledge, skills and experiences to serve the world’s community by participating in preventing and management of different disasters like flood, earthquake, hurricane, and famine. Also prevention and management of war and violence which drive people from their families, homes, lands and hence create generations of orphans, widows, homeless and vulnerable humanity
To work with local partners around the world to encourage, train and shape the community’s future. This is including providing healthcare, literacy classes, clean water and sanitation, HIV/AIDS education, drug rehabilitation and food security
To assist the local community in reconstructing and rehabilitating social and economic infrastructures (schools, roads, dispensaries and their own house)
To lay bases for the true development and self reliance
To initiate and promote micro-projects, small industries and hand crafts activities
To promote and increase income –generating activities through savings and credit schemes. Advise and give business consultation through our different expertise achieved from trainings and work experiences earned by WDA members worldwide
To undertake and promote projects of preventing and controlling, the spread of environmental degradation and equip the community of rational natural resources exploitation skills
To promote education especially female education through emulation, encouragement and construction of schools, assisting all vulnerable pupils and students in their education on daily life basis
To promote and increase awareness on the empowerment of women and to fight all kind of inhuman acts against women including female ge***al mutilation in countries or member states where the customs are practiced. To assist and take care of displaced people resulting from different calamities and crisis
To promote awareness and help community realize its responsibility of taking care of people with disability, old people, widows and orphans
To assist the community to reach better and reliable nutritional status through improved agricultural and pastoral activities. To contribute and fully participate in the process of broadening up-to-date technology to meet the challenge of globalization forces which includes computer and general electronics knowledge. Founding Members
Mr. Nickson Samwel Alex, who is also the Executive Director of the World DAFI Association. Is the Finance graduate from the Institute Of finance Management (IFM), he has worked for different local and international organization worldwide, this includes Plan International Tanzania, where he worked as Finance and Administration Coordinator, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) kasulu field office in Kigoma Tanzania, where he worked on behalf of the World Vision Tanzania on the Interim Refugee Repatriation Programme (IRRP) as the Electronic Data Processing (EDP) staff. He has also worked for the Price Water House Coopers (PWC) in Dar es salaam, Tanzania as business consultant trainee. The Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF Europe) at Dodoma airport in Tanzania where he worked as the Finance officer, tax consultant and assistant to the finance Manager. He also worked for Nutricare Limited as the full time accountant and tax consultant for the company. Alex has also worked for Careforce on different community development projects in the United Kingdom. He is aspired to utilize his potential to serve the community and therefore he is a member with experience in different ministries which includes the International Fellowship of Evangelical students (IFES) and Tanzania Fellowship of Evangelical Students (TAFES) where he worked as full time volunteer after his graduation in November 2002.
